TomMoore
The Reading Buccaneers announced the corps' 2014 production yesterday, at Membership Day 2014. I posted the announcement in a separate thread, but for convenience I've copied it below. It's a bold, exciting program....we can't wait to dive in further on December 14 and 15! _________________________________________________________________ READING BUCCANEERS ANNOUNCE 2014 PRODUCTIONBREAK ON THROUGHThe Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps is proud to announce its 2014 production, Break on Through. With this years production, the corps will invite audiences to share our experience of breaking through boundaries and barriers - personal, emotional and physical. The Buccaneers will build upon the success of recent productions with a very ambitious program highlighted by the fusion of visual and musical elements into a single, cohesive idea. Visually, the concept will be evident throughout the show as we literally test the 300' x 160' boundaries of a football field. Musical selections will be pieced together to present a single musical thread, highlighting the ebb and flow of tension, culminating with the eventual destruction of the boundary. On a deeper level, we aim to break barriers of program design and construction, by seamlessly combining otherwise disparate works of music and visual elements to convey a simple idea. We also aim to break out of the mold we have set for ourselves musically, by boldly combining classical, jazz, modern, classic rock and original works into the production. In doing so, we pay tribute to the great Buccaneers corps of the past, which earned the corps the nickname "Balance in Blue," because of the corps' versatility in handling a variety of musical styles and genres. Finally, as is our goal every year, we aim to break through boundaries of achievement and give our outstanding members the satisfaction of doing something they initially thought impossible.Musical selections include:"Break on Through (To the Other Side)," by The Doors"Introduction, Fourth Ballet Suite," by Dmitri Shostakovich"Orawa," by contemporary Polish composer Wojciech Kilar"The Heat of the Day," by Pat Metheny GroupOriginal music by Buccaneers designers Mark Lortz, Johnny Trujillo and Greg Tsalikis. The Buccaneers will rehearse next on Saturday, December 14 (9:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m.) and Sunday, December 15 (9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.) at Twin Valley High School, Elverson, PA. Both sessions are for brass and percussion only. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. both days. This is going to be an incredible journey! Join us as we Break on Through!
Windsor Regiment PR
Windsor Regiment announces 2014 production! There is darkness inside all of us, that part of our soul that is irreparably damaged by the very trials and tribulations of life. We are what we are because of it, or perhaps in spite of it. Finding our way out of the darkness can be a difficult road to follow. With every few steps forward we find ourselves being pulled backward a step or two, it is like the past is not yet done with us even though we have decided that we are done with it. But if these years have taught us anything it is this: you can never run away. Not ever. The only way out is in. As we search for a path out of the darkness our visions will become clear only when we can look into our own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes. And so the journey begins… Presenting our 2014 production "Introspectus" The Infernal Dance of King Kashchei (Igor Stravinsky -The Firebird) Supplication (Igor Stravinsky -The Firebird) Ostinato (Bartok) Berceuse / Bridge Over Troubled Water (Igor Stravinsky -The Firebird/Simon and Garfunkel) Finale (Igor Stravinsky -The Firebird) Edited January 10, 2014 by Windsor Regiment PR

Spandy
From Facebook and another thread here on DCP: Sunrisers Announce 2014 Musical SelectionsThe Long Island Sunrisers are proud to announce that their 2014 program will feature Compositions from Classic Russian Composers. During their sixty year history, the Sunrisers have featured a number of compositions whose roots are found with noted Russian Composers. The Program will feature the following literature:• Procession of the Nobles - Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov• Comedian's Galop - Dimitri Kabalevsky• Fire of Eternal Glory - Dmitri Shostakovich• Infernal Dance from the Firebird Suite - Igor Stravinsky• Finale from the Firebird Suite - Igor StravinskyThe show is set up to start with a majestic opening statement and production which was a “Sunriser” Staple throughout the Corps history including the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1990’s. The Comedians Gallop also was performed by the Sunrisers in the 1990’s and is to be a light-hearted view of the Roman Czar era. The ballad – Fire of Eternal Glory – while not performed previously by the Corps has been played by other DCA and DCI corps. The Infernal Dance from Firebird Suite – is the section where the Czar is being challenged and the reign is being threatened and coming to a close. The last production - Finale from the Firebird Suite is to show the new heir to the Throne as well as symbolize the rebirth of the Sunrisers in its most current form.“It was very important to the sixtieth anniversary management that we stayed true to our Historical Roots!”.stated new the Executive Director and alumnus, Kevin Hassan. “With this program, the Sunrisers will be true to its roots while performing recognizable music to both the DCA Fan Base as well as our long and storied alumni.”The 2014 program was also selected to show the various stages of the history of the Sunrisers – which has run the gamut from the best of times – Championships to the worst of times – unable to field a competitive corps and everything in between! For additional information on the 2014 Sunrisers visit our website – www.lisunrisers.com or our official Facebook page – www.facebook.com/lisunrisers. Spandy
I have added Bushwackers "The Resistants" and Shenandoah Sound "Shenandoah Sound's European Vacation!" to the list, with links to their respective announcements. Cincinnati Tradiion is doing "Fanfare & Allegro" for their opener. Noted; however, I generally wait until I see an official show announcement before adding it. Can I tease out what Tichelli piece? I honestly have no idea. When they announced the show at banquet, they didn't mention any specific pieces. I have seen some fans on Facebook guessing it will be Cloudburst.
