CV Indoor Begins New Era

Recommended Posts

Dan and Chris,

Great video. Good luck with the new season. The youngsters are already looking like they have been well schooled.

With CVI now joining Cadets WP, SCV WP, BD's winter program at Riverside, Cavie's Green Thunder and Chromium, Brigs' winter guard, etc., might it be time to start a new DCP forum specifically for drum corps' Winter activities, a forum not segregated by the DCA/DCI divide? I foresee a generation of discussion and comments which would be more germane to the indoor arena

Those who foresee/fear the morphing of DCI/DCA boundaries to be quite fluid will note that this breech has already been made in the WGI world where units from both associations compete against each other. The recent percussion rule changes for DCA will make that flow perhaps move more quickly.

The recent shift of Shenandoah Sound and SunDevils out of current DCA into different programs to include SoundSport units will also probably generate its own discussion relative to DCA and to these other musical marching opportunities.

Atlanta CV likes to posture that they are a cutting edge unit of vitality and energy. While I don't disagree, I suggest that their current well-done venture may increase some DCA bantering.

I second this. With the advent of SoundSport and WGI Winds, the indoor side of the activity is only going to get more popular than it already is.

Thanks, John, for the considerations.

And thanks Dan and CV for your patience with the diverted thread prattle.

It is but an example of why a new forum may be helpful.

I am certain that CVI (easier to say than CVWP) will rate much good discussion once competitions begin.
