BLUE COATS - favorite Opening statement of the year. It looks like Carolina Crown has the show to win! Blue Devils - creative..however, i am not paying money to see it live...Boring... Cadets - Nice Change, pleasant to recognize all the 12/25 icons...Where is Santa? Phantom Regiment - very precise... I am wondering if Spirit of Atlanta will beat Cavies too....

  9. Anyone know if SCV's GE MUSIC broke the top 12 barrier? Just curious....
  10. It is amazing that EVERY YEAR, People say the SAME THING...If only if SCV could of executed the show! BULL CRAP!!! The corps get the same talent, the same average age...the same kind of people that want to be great! It comes down to the design people... You design for your members, Not JUST FOR YOUR OWN EGOS!!!!
  11. The Asbury Park Press newspaper today released a story, that there are Baboons loose in Jackson, NJ.(some of the article was slightly altered) JACKSON — Residents told police they spotted a baboon in two different locations here Thursday and the sightings touched off an afternoon hunt by police and Six Flags Great Adventure officials. Police officers are wondering if the baboons escaped, so they can make it in time for the DCI Drum Corps Show. Police got a second call 20 minutes later from an Anderson Road resident who reported that a baboon was sitting on her back porch, practicing his bugle.. Police were unable to locate the baboon, but because the sightings were in proximity to Monkey Jungle at Six Flags Great Adventure. Great Adventure spokeswoman Kristin Siebeneicher said the park sent out a response team to search for the baboon at about 2:30 p.m., but couldn't find the animal. She said the baboon went in hiding till after the drum corps show. She said the search continued in the areas even after police left. She said the search was called off later in the day and will look for the baboons in the Judges box when the DCI show arrives. The park has a total of 150 baboons, she said. Each baboon is vaccinated and micro-chipped, she said. Since the Drum Corps show is coming into town, this one might of hopped the park fence. The baboons are not aggressive and tend to stay away from people unless they have eatable hats..GO JERSEY SURF COLOR GUARD> Monmouth County SPCA Chief Buddy Amato said it is illegal to possess a baboon in New Jersey unless a person has an exotic animal license issued by the state Division of Fish Game and Wildlife, therefore, NO DRUM CORPS may capture the Baboon and take it on tour with them. Police provided no description of the baboon or its direction of travel. There were 2 sightings just minutes from Jackson Liberty HS. Newman said any baboon sightings should be called in to police and residents should not approach the baboon.PLEASE LET ALL DRUM CORPS PARTICIPANTS KNOW THIS! Siebeneicher said baboons are not typically aggressive unless they hear out of tune horns and drums that are too loud. "Eventually they just want to return to their group,'' she said. Anyone with information should call police at 732-928-1111.

  14. I saw 3 Boston Crusaders on the ground (from the Snare Line) 2 of them lost their scoops when they tumbled, 1 had the scoop dragging along as they marched off the field. 1 saw 3 Jersey Surf Horn players go down..3 Mellos..1 Mello got trampled on...oh man..her plume was broken, It was a back up move... This field was astro turf...I would hate to see these corps try to march on grass...OH MY MY MY! We hope that all the players and performers are ok!!!
  15. Ever since GR Royer is gone, 1992 - I feel that SCV has been looking for an identity, and still havent found it. The arrangements of the horn line (now a days) are nothing like what they used to be...I remember GR saying if people cant hum it when they leave the stadium, then it isnt right...I can not remember too many times, in the past 4-6 years, that i can hum anything Vanguard has done, except for Appalachian Spring which they first did with GR. I hope they decide sometime to go back to their roots and their true style, before the activity ceases to exist.
