lowend
I hadn't thought of the rook-out thing yet. Imagine, you beat out hundreds at tryouts for a champion corps (and I'm particularly thinking of the drumline) and bang - you come in 9th as a corps and a drumline! Gotta be disappointing. Which is why one should try out for a corps that has a tradition they can embrace and a mission they can believe in -- not just one that MIGHT get you a ring. Both of which Regiment has never lacked. 1st place or 9th.

Agreed. Yes, I too believe in the organization over ring chasing, but I'm sure PR was a dream corps organization for many of the members this year. I have two sons who hope to march with their dream corps in the future: one with BD (tuba) and the other with Madison (mello). My tuba son is competitive and the mello son is aggressively competitive with themselves: they want to be the very best they can be. If I could have my druthers they'd march SCV. Of course with limited family income they'll probably be marching Colts and that will be fine by me - they are a fabulous organization. So, to repeat myself, in no way do I endorse ring chasing. SassyMama
It would seem after reading the article that a car hit the food truck, so hopefully the person that hit them was fully insured.

It should have little or nothing to do with PR insurance in the long run. Now, staying on topic, I hope everyone at PR involved in the crash heals quickly. And O/T...there is no shame in 9th place. The important thing is that the members enjoyed what they were doing.
