Scerpella
It's not a formal DCA sanctioned event. It's a special performance event by all the corps; being held and hosted by the Kilties. Does this mean its not scored?

bill
$ Correct. In an effort to expand performance opportunities in the Midwest for the open age corps, the Kiltie organization has stepped to the plate for the last 5 years and offered a 2 show weekend for our drum corps brethren traveling into the area. This year we were approached by folks in Northern Illinois about hosting a show there. We worked with the folks, did some financial underwriting to keep it within that community's budget and hosted a DCA sanctioned show on their behalf and in concert as two cooperating partners. All proceeds from the Saturday show went to the local group, the Kilts had no financial gain, and (as mentioned) actually financially underwrote a portion....it was the right thing to do to help the activity. Naperville desired to have their show on a Saturday evening, we relinquished our plans for a Saturday event and let them run with it; Kilties went with Sunday afternoon. Because of the budgets, we asked the DCA-Central folks where they wanted the adjudication process, Racine on Sunday afternoon or Saturday evening in Naperville, because the budget was only going to allow one or the other; DCA Central choose Saturday evening. In short.......it was a simple business decision to cultivate new shows and not break the bank of any party in doing so.
