We all know the initial result - most likely a completely awesome drum corps show that would be in contention for the ring.

How about on DCP? Would they be more popular with DCP'ers or would they continue to get flack?

Not intended for flaming - lord knows they get enough of that already (From Myself as well)....

Ready? GO!

Cadets would be popular. All the hits they take on here are the result of design and George, never ability, work ethic or passion. The kids are good.

George on the other hand - the jury would still be out. It would depend on who took up equipment that was available because of rule changes he pushed in the past, and what he proposes for the next rules congress (anyone smell woodwinds???)

there would be a couple people incredibly upset that they weren't taking advantage of all the wonderful things that are legal for corps to use during a show...limiting their width and depth. The would cry that because they aren't using these "new, innovative" things, that they aren't near as good as they were in their heyday...2005-2008. Complaints about the Cadets design team would be rampant, saying they don't have the imagination necessary to incorporate the wonderful things that electronics and narration are.

They would say they won't support the Cadets ever again...quit attending shows, and become BOA's greatest fans...

Meanwhile..I'd be doing a drunken dance to the benevolent corps god...

Still not quite sure why everyone is so against things changing in drum corps? It is an artistic activity, it is suppose to keep changing, that is how life and art happen. I couldnt imagine someone telling a musician not to use certain things because that is not how it has been. I understand the older fans wanting it to be the same, but movies and tv shows are the same way, they are going to change.....accept it, or stop watching. I hope DCI keeps changing and keeps bringing NEW to the activity.............thank you George......10 years from now you will be appreciated, not for electronics, blah, blah blah......but for pushing for the artistic side of this activity to take a new route.

once again....we are against it because there are already outlets for narration and electronics...there is only one outlet for drum corps...

The error in this statement and the reasons why certain changes are unpopular are discussed fully in about a thousand threads elsewhere.

I don't think they're less popular now. Just more controversy now. I'd love no electronics, and no narration. I find the narration 2nd rate, and written at a middle school level. Embarassing to listen to.

I'd more than likely love that type of show.

No one can ever deny that it's the show design that is bad. Not the execution. Go back to the old days and I'll be a #1 fan.
