Gbassman5 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 watch the new Vic Firth video: http://www.vicfirth.com/features/DCI2008/v...i08_scv3HQ.html at one point in their second mvt. (drum solo mvt.), the snareline is in mixed order and is STILL playing just as clean as before and after. if that's not executing at a high level of demand, then i dunno what is.... music.gif worthy.gif worthy.gif worthy.gif worthy.gif worthy.gif Quote
caliquads Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Ya they handle the weird spacial relationships very well. But, I think the book might be a bit easy for that group. Quote
kaplac Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I don't know about anyone else, but I get a bad link from your post. http://www.vicfirth.com/features/DCI2008/v...i08_scv3HQ.html Great stuff by scv though, very clean. Quote
sday88 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I hate watching videos on the Vic Firth site on my work computer because the sound is off from the video. Sounds pretty good though. Although, and people please don't lambaste me, the parts really didn't sound all that hard, especially the tenors. Sorry. Quote

SCV never has been know for amazing quad parts, more amazing quad ensemble contribution. Quote

Gbassman5 Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 oh yeah, sorry. i forgot to mention that INT's drumline does things 10 times harder....lol Quote
Jeffe77 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Ya that is a pretty easy quad book. SCV never has been know for amazing quad parts, more amazing quad ensemble contribution.I think the 87, 90, 91, 92, 93, 97, 98, 04, quad lines may have something to say about that. Quote
rosski47 Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Tangent here: After watching the Cadets videos, I noticed that the quads they're using are very small. Not deep at all like the Dynasty or Pearl Tenors. Anyone know which Yamaha model they're using? Quote
