a marching trumpet Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 I got a question, why is everyone bashing crown when I last saw them on the pay thing my friends have it was the last time cadets beat them. I thought their music was alot better sounding overall, um I still like 08 really well, but anyways the music is really cool when you listen to it, Im assuming by the scores im reading online that their marching is alot better? Give them some credit is all im saying, I got into drum corp about a year ago and I have been always inlove with the hornline, I mean it beats all the other hornlines by a long shot in my view, I dont know much about color guard or percussion since I march brass, but from what I see or hear they also seem very good. Now granted their marching compared to other corps in how clean it is looked like $%^& im just sayin it out right. But from what I saw this year it looked very good compared to past years, and from what some of my friends are still telling me they still have areas to improve, I really hope they win but at the rate you guys bash them im wondereing if the scoring is off? I just wonder why Crown is always bashed by everyone? Go crown, hope you guys win! Quote

GGarrett Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 my suggestion is to go back and count how many people are actually doing the bashing... look at the number of people who are on DCP... allow for people who never come here anymore or rarely visit... assume that a few are merely opinions wrapped up in a "bashing" sounding package... remember that everyone is a critic except of their own personal favorites... divide by 3.14... hop on one foot and do the "snap, snap, snap!" motion with you right hand... and you will find that it doesn't matter AT ALL what people here say when it seems they are "bashing" anyone. DCP is a great place to chit chat, express opinion and pontificate... but it should never be taken so literally as to ASSume that the majority here ("everyone" as you said in your post) is bashing. dbc03 Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Seriously, if Carolina Crown fans want their corps to be consistently on the same level as The Cadets, Cavaliers, and Blue Devils you better get used to criticism really really quick. The cost of being the best drum corps in the world is that people will be a lot more vocal about their criticisms. Nobody gets too critical of the 8th best drum corps in the world because they are "just" the 8th best drum corps in the world. Quote

I'd say right now Crown could beat them handily since they would only have a handful of people on the field Quote
