  1. Well you see, In the beginning the world was created in 1972 where god created the drumline and the brassline. They were allowed to play anything they wished and everythin was good. Then withen a few months the directors of these corps fell into the devils temptation. when they fell into temptation they were told of many intruments that would win the favor of millions, thus being tricked by this all out lie, the devil disguised as a peruvian music salesman talked these men into buying such things as marimbas and all sorts of things that required mallets. Thus the directors had instruments that came from the fiery pits of hell itself. Thus the word Pit. But, "the trumpets will sound..." yeah I agree. thats why. my stupid story is posted above.
  2. Well as i've realized i've been a bit of an ###hole about posting things, and being quite arrogant about many postings also. Therefore I apologize for it and herby will quit doing it. I guess thats the best way I can phrase it? Sooooo yeah I mean I've reviewed alot of my posts and all, and kind of noticed this. So if you could take this as an apology and im sorry if I have offended any of yall in the past year or so. I just ended up venting alot on here because I was really tense and really worked up about alot of things. So, if you can, please accept my apology. Thanks for reading.
  3. Yeah he's pullin everything off these days that doesnt have A) vocals B) amps C) synthesizers D) all of the above
  4. just from what ive heard at the only corps show ive been to, I never heard leads consistantly play above high C all the time, there were time yes where they were D's E's F's and a G or two but usually from what I saw they just hung out around high C all day long minus the blue devils. (generalization of course) I wish I knew whoever did crowns double G thing, I sat right infront of the guy at murfreesboro, props to him I liked it.
  5. I think it should be more of an alliance where both advertise each other, compete on different levels, but both go to the same contest site, in my view I mean if they both show up on the same day/days at the same place then it would be pretty cool because both benefit from being shown side by side, and both are judged on their scale, so you can go see two types of divisions in one day, which would be alot of fun!
  6. Id say the recession would hurt him in getting the job, and I agree to cut him a break, if you parents payed for your MCL fees (joe murphy is awsome go LOUDs) then would they not pay for your MCL fee and you make up the rest of the difference? If not because their helping you with college, Ive never done drumcorps, but I do want to, my advice would be to get a mass printed paper explaining your situation then deliver them to the heads of all the buisness's because as my grandad says if you want something done always go to the head of the Horse not to the the horses's ### first, because the head is where the brain is. Thats what I would do, and dont count out the maintainence companies like here in murfreesboro tn theres one called "TN Electric" they do a bunch of contracting for my dads plant he works at that produces milk, and they make a few million+ per year off of them, sooo those guys are good to ask because they always respect the fine arts as I have found out from hanging out with my dad when he talks with em. I mean, if I were you id talk to the guy maybe have a small portable DVD player in your car that you could pull out showing the corps show to give them an idea of what DCI is, and those guys love politeness, anyways thats what I would do, let me know how you get the money, because in a few years I plan to tryout.
  7. well Id have to say the quality of it, because your sound you can change while playing with different mpcs or little add ons, but it doesnt do anyone good if you cant tune it or move valves, even if its the best sounding thing ever
  8. Baritone yes, but tuba is also needed like its been said, so Id say do tuba, besides as my trumpets agrees the contras are full of epic awsome
  9. hard! haha then again I had to take it a second time. but yeah not bad
  10. haha well im sure you and your girlfriend had a good time
  11. I think Bach does, maybe not contra but everything from euphonium up I think they do
  12. Oh ok, I take it cost is an issue with stomvi, schilke and all those other guys also correct?
  13. ive heard of king, dynasty, and yamaha being the instruments of choice for the hornlines, why not a Bach or two if its not cost thats a problem, what is it?
  14. I was curious of those of you who had to pay for your way through, when you were getting money, do corps do a type of product selling like a fruit sale, or are there scholorships, things like that where you can get money yourself? If so, could you please tell me what corps does it and a description of what it is, thanks. (dont say get a job, im working on it)
  15. Well all the other discussions seem a bit boringheres a better one (in my view) no more of that who went where crap, just what was it like on the tour bus for you, and what was the craziest thing that you participated in, saw, etc etc etc you get my point.
  16. I never heard a G bugle line live before, im a bit young to have, anyways would it sound bad say if you had a mixed hornline of G's and Bb's?
