  1. I just want to say that I am happy that the Crossmen are still "Alive and Well" in San Antonio Texas and we all need to send them money!!!! Yes, it is a scary situation and we all should be concerned for the Crossmen. Most corps do rely on their placement for financial stability and have a hard time surviving, especially after not making finals the past two years. My only hope is that "All of the Alumni need to step up and donate to the Crossmen so they can survive another year". I think the Christmas Fund drive or "The Jaz Club" fund drive did not bring in half of what the corp collected one year ago. The Alumni are also planning a "Beef and Beer" on March 31st if anyone is interested in helping the Crossmen, please check the YEA website for more information. There are more than 2,500 Crossmen Alumni and the Corp needs your Help. If not financially, then how about volunteering in some way??? I too, will embrace the 2007 Crossmen show with an open mind and ears and especially my heart. I can't wait to see them on the East Coast and also in Pasadena on Saturday Night August 11, 2007. (25 years after my age-out in Montreal) :D
  2. Oh Boy, I can't wait to see that video on YouTube, you eating your shorts!!!! I am planning to see the Crossmen on Saturday night August 11th in Pasadena, California. If not, then I will see them on Thursday and Friday night in the Rose Bowl. How great is that!!!!!!!!!!! 25 years after I aged-out in Montreal, Canada and 32 years since our first DCI finals in Philadelphia, Pa. :)
  3. And what a great year that was!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) I can't wait to see the 2007 Crossmen , especially at DCI East and all of the other east coast shows. But I REALLY am looking forward to see them in Sunny California, all three nights!!! :D
  4. Yes, it is true; The Longaberger (Basket) Company's Home Office is a replica of (a very Large) "Medium Market Basket", only 160 times larger. I did not see this on tour, however I have visited this building in 1999. It is located near Dresden, Ohio. the website to see this is http://www.longaberger.com And what an awesome company it is. Checkout their website and click on "visit us" to see pictures of this Amazing Landmark!!!!
  5. I found another picture of the Crossmen that was entered in the Madison Scouts file #125.
  6. I heard that too. And I think that is why the Crossmen were sent to San Antonio. :(
  7. This sounds like my band director. In my senior year of high school, after marching in bandfront for 9th, 10th,and 11th grades, I missed some of the band camp in 1977 because I was in Denver at DCI finals. When I returned, the assistant band director said he was going to thow me out. I told him not to bother, I quit. I really did not enjoy going to the football games and especially on cold snowy days and nights. My high school band was not very competetive, probably only 3 or 4 competitions per year. I had more enjoyment marching with the Crossmen. 1975-1977 & 1979-1982
  8. I was thinking, how many balls would they loose over the summer?? And they would have to keep a supply of spare balls on hand. :o
  9. That would be an ideal situation for an East Coast audition camp, especially for the returning members...and also for the CAA to offer to help and meet the new admin and staff.
  10. I don't think that George mentioned a third (or Fourth) offer to the Board of Directors. There were only two to choose from. Either Fold the Crossmen or move em to Texas. This totally came out of the Blue for most of us!!! The Fans and the Alumni Association are still waiting for answers. Who will be teaching the corp??? How is DCI going to handle the Crossmen, are they still going to be a D1 corp??? I hope that the kids that wanted to return will find the finances and will be welcomed back to the Crossmen (from San Antonio, Texas).
  11. I am not sure this is a true statement?????!!!! If this is true, there should have been more options for the Crossmen to have stayed on the East Coast at least.
  12. There are many members from last year that are just still in shock and are devastated. They are wondering how they can make a return to their corp that is now 2000 miles away. Yes there are some that are excited of this new change, but many more still in SHOCK and really sad!!!
  13. I should have said a Division I corp! Maybe they will go to the Cadets????!!!! LOL & LMAO. I am sure that most of the local kids were intending to return to the Crossmen and now That will probably NOT be happening for some of them, due to the fact that the Crossmen will be based in San Antonio. :( <**> IMHO, I would not want to march in a Senior corp if I were 15 - 22 years old. You only get to be in DCI until 21 or 22, Why waste those years in a Senior Corp??? You only live once, so go for a DCI Corp when you are young and save the DCA corps for the later years in your life, if you must.
  14. I am happy for you, but very very sad for the kids that marched last year that Cannot return to this corp. Please keep the tradition alive!!!!!!!! I hope to see the corp in Pa, MD and NJ as well as California next year. Please don't hesitate to contact the Alumni in your area to help out.
  15. Mike, I don't think YOU understand the setup.... I was under the impression that the corp was sold and that YEA will be cutting ties after the 2007 season.
  16. Too bad they were not allowed to stay in a Pennsylvania or even Delaware city (again). This is truly a sad day for the Alumni Association and the local kids that wanted to return. Some of the kids that are 15 - 18 years old, will probably not be able to march anywhere next year. This was such a rushed deal I think, and I don't think it was handled properly. I just hope and pray that it's not to late to field a corp and that the corp will still hold onto tradition.
  17. :angry2: :angry2: :( Maybe because they are moving to Texas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( <**>
  18. Cavaliers 2006; Phantom 2005; Blue Devils 2005; Bluecoats 2006; Cadets 2005; SCV 2006; BKnights 2006; Crown 2005 :) ; Madison (Same); Boston 2006; Glassmen (Same); Spirit (Same); Crossmen 2005 :)!
  19. Cathy, I'm with you! I will be ordering my tickets soon and I am so excited to visit California again. I haven't been there since our 1979 tour, and my husband has never been there. It's once in a lifetime for us to get away to California, even though He will have to sit through 3 Drum Corps shows. I am still hoping and praying that everything works out for us, as far as vacations for my husband and my sister-in-law who will be watching our kids. California Here We Come!!!! :D
  20. Wow, So did I... Check out the Scores and Placements then. Bluecoats were 33rd, Cavaliers were 12th, Spirit was 11th, Crossmen were 6th, Garfield Cadets were 5th and Blue Devils won. These were the Prelim Placements from 1982 in Montreal Canada. And it seems like yesterday... :)
  21. I don't think the Blue Stars Director has taken them up the ladder to beat the Crossmen, I think the judges gave them that.
  22. Now Your Talkin!!!! ^OO^ This would indeed be great. You know their nickname is "The Dark Horse" as well as "Bones". :)
  23. Due to the Heat Wave we are having in the east, the show will now start at 8:00 pm. If you are planning to attend the Crossmen Hall of Fame Reception it will be starting at 7:00 pm. For more info you can check out the website at www.yea.org
  24. This is a great compliment to the Crossmen and Scott Litzenberg. As I was reading this, I thought that they might not be asked back. I remember the 70's and 80's! Crossmen did get into trouble a couple of times for not cleaning up after themselves. It seems that the corps members are so much more mature and respectful today. I hope that the Crossmen have a great ending to their season and everything works out for them when they finally reach Madison. Have a safe journey and enjoy the show (Ride)!!!
  25. I think the Cadets have been around for like 70 years... and they have more alumni than the Crossmen, who have only been around since 1975 or 31 years. Ist dibs on what???
