Sorry but Mr. Webber is not at the same level nor has he been consistant. His Colts work was bad, Scouts also not top end. His 1st year at SCV was some of his best work, this year, ho hum.

The performance area is at par with the music. Mitch has brought them a good ways. He is a good band writer but is at his limit as to where he can advance them

What does everyone think needs to happen to put Scouts back in to the top 12?

No doubt the Bluecoats are an elite corps. The music was held back from getting it's maximum combined credit because of the visual writing. The performance had them in the hunt however the visual design captions are clearly what kept them where they were. Bluecoats can easily be a top 3 corps with a visual program that belongs at thet level. The visual design and coordination people they have on staff have done a great job but they are at thier limit ability wise so it is time to take the next step.

Division I has more to do with the business operations of the the governing body. I am not sure Teal is ready for that based on what I have been told. There are groups in I that have the resourses management wise to do it but that are not usuaaly competative.

So these guys can't win. If everything is the same as last night they read the recap, if it changes they don't know what they are doing. Some facts that may throw a curve to the stories. Crown does not do near as much in combination as any of the top 3 or 4. Bluecoats do not have a visual program that compares to the top 3 or 4. Neither BD or Cadets have great guards this year. Troopers and Crossmen do not have the maturity of most of the other corps but did very well. Accadamy has a very un developed guard. Not everything grows at the same rate. Pioneer, Mandarin and Southwind did not have shows which were going to succeed but the kids did the best they could.

For all that remember and especially those who jumped down my throat for pointing it out. I said visual design would keep Bluecoats out of top 4. If you look at the recap from yesterday you will see it was prophetic. I am sorry to see that since I enjoyed the Bluecoats this year but if they are going to make a run for the top, changes in the visual design will need to be made. Don't hold that horn and drumline back!

The bigger question is why would they let Carlisle judge at all?

Judges are usually announced Wednesday night. Anyone heard who is judging Thursday, Friday and Saturday? Maybe it wasn't an earthquake last night, maybe that was just corps reacting to panels!

I could. I have and the people who recieve them would disagree. By the way unlike many others I never blame it on the children.

I believe the progression lies solely at two peoples feet. Roman and Larry. Both hall of famers. I am reminded of the quote used with investments. Past performance or success should not be used to predict future success. I truly do wish them well.
