  1. Although short on parking Binghamton is a very nice venue. Good, high vantage point for spectators and an all-weather field-turf field. Yes, it's the one by the highway (Rt. 81/17) for those of you who were there in 2002. About three hours from Jersey.
  2. A quick bit of news: I drove by the performance field this past weekend and was pleased to see that someone had the foresight to cover the field before the flood. This covering is caked with mud. But the field underneath, constructed of that lovely field-turf, looks to be in awesome shape. I can't say the same for the all-weather track -- it looks hideous, but that's why it's all-weather? -- and the concession stand and grandstand were also quite muddy--both were inundated in about 5-6 ft. (or more?) of water. The practice field behind the stadium has about 5 to 6 inches of dried Susquehanna River mud on it. Thankfully (or regretfully?) the school district is used to these types of disasters, seeing as how they happen almost every year, so there shouldn't be any problems with this show's happening, which is good news... the community could use a pick-me-up.
  3. In who? Oh... the town, not the guy. Good luck Cru. Ed Medina

  6. Amen. Madison is a great pedestrian place, with lots of watering holes, eateries and other not-so-bad fare nearby. Best place to sit in Camp Randall? I can't recall a bad seat in the house. Honestly.
  7. Michigan stole the PSU game. But I digress. Sorry to continue OT, but I remember very well the Huskers' visit to Happy Valley a few years back.... ouch! Then the Nits hit Lincoln pretty hard the next year, if I'm not mistaken. b**bs
  8. GO STATE BEAT SEMINOLES! Daaa Daaa Da Daaa Daaaaaaaaaaaa.............
  9. You've seen those checkers sets that are football/batting helmets. What about shakos vs. Aussies or helmets (or even baseball hats vs. whatever and all else?).
  10. I can see it all now... during DCI week: "Mini-line film festival and competition."
  11. Loudest mellophones four straight years: 1988 through 1991 Star of Indiana
  12. Drumcorpsopoly DCI Checkers (and/or chess), the Rivalry Edition (BD vs. SCV; VK vs. Freelancers; 27 vs. Bridgemen, you get the idea). More jerseys --baseball, football, hockey or hoops -- and fitted caps from more corps. Flags for tailgating and other assorted logoized tailgating accessories (fold-up chairs, canopies, bbq grills, etc.). Better (or just plain) stuff to read about drum corps and easy to find at souvie tables. Uniformed action figures w/assorted instruments or equipment. Giant football field rug available to play with said action figures. All figures are also wireless speakers that are compatible with your stereo system and can play your favorite corps music, from your floor playing field. DCI Summer Music Games -- EA Sports (If it's in the game, it's in the game).
  13. "Um... well.... OK.... There are so many things to talk about here, I can't really say anything." <turns off tape>

  16. It's tough to argue against a hornline with 20 sops and 70 "other" horns. Man that's a lot of cake.
  17. Here here. Their web site keeps threatening and I think they have a winter drum line. Geez, add a guard and a hornline... bring back the Freelancers!
  18. VK never had 3-valve sops, save one or two experimental models.
  19. 18 Field Percussion (if evil): 6 snares 6 tenors 6 basses
