  1. They said that they played only Westshore stuff...Impossible Dream, All the Things you Are were two he told me about...he also mentioned they took his blanket and sewed his corps patches that werent on his jacket...etc I would have been a friggin mess...I still think about Norm Selak passed away -when we all left corps rehearsal and went to the viewing in shorts, sneaker and tee shirts and he was resting in his uniform...then we went and did the Hershey show...gosh I need a drink.
  2. Why apologize...what is important that you "luved" Tim enough to post this and let everyone know..thanks Jeff. I think everyone was in shock to hear it...and then when Mike told me about them playing corps music at the funeral home etc ...I turned Toomey off too...Sherri and I were too busy crying... :( LOVE ya man ! BTW bring some raffle money next time LOL
  3. TIMOTHY IMES www.williamcbrownfh.com/index.cfm link with his death announcement and a photo of our gentle giant... You know, the pix they have on site is the first time I have ever seen Tim NOT smiling...oh, I am weepy now...
  4. Hi there, You should go and check out the one Cabs truck. The previous driver is a cabinetmaker and he built individual "slots" for the contras (in cases). When I helped them unload the truck the first time I was so impressed with the layout of that truck !!! He had everything layed out perfectly... I wont even mention how clean it was either. especially after dealing with our corps truck mess for so long...stuff falling...trash horrible.
  5. Baltimore-soprano Mike said he didnt see an obit listed in any of the papers in Baltimore area, Jeff... He told me he passed away March 20th and was would have been 46 years old this June. Same thing his sister died from a few years ago...very sad. Mike said the viewing was very touching...there were murals of corps photos everywhere and they had his corps jacket and mouthpiece with Timmy. I wanted to find a photo to post of Tim and it's funny, I would show them to Tim and he would always ask me for them...so he could show his kids....
  6. Hey, I know this is late notice...but, I just found out that Jim and Kathy Kyle's mom Dottie passed away December 5th... I drive by their house today and saw the sold sign going up in front yard and checked pennlive and there was her listing. Maybe some of you remember her from corps shows and when she worked at Murphys in Camp Hill. What a wonderful lady she was. I used to stay there on the weekends and she and her hubby Bob were the nicest people ( they had to be-sometimes there were as many as 10 of us). They spoiled all of us rotten !! I felt like one of her kids. The realtor told me that Jim living in Williamsport right now and going to be moving to Austrailia because of his job....wow... Just thought some of you might like to know.

I am a tad bummed cant go but, told her would help sell Forum tix while corps rehearse. Alot of new groups and more people attending. Almost sounds like THE event of Saturday. BUT, She also expecting a larger crowd to play for at Serenade as well...I CANT WAIT !!!!! In the words of Sandy...."Rock me Rock me"

  15. Hey Jim, how's the cookout coming along for Ponzo's group? What time do you want the Westshore alumni to come over to help you set up (that means ice down the beer)? Ok, I am done picking on you honest. Ben !!!!! Yooo hooooooooooooooooo you going to come to Serenade? I bringing my maracas...you bring your bongos Humm !!! Will I see you at next rehearsal? I have these dang smashed up pennies for you that I have collected all along New York, New Jersey, and up to Cape Cod ...any show I went to, I made sure to look for a friggin smasher for you.....where in the h*ll have you been?
  16. You are so right ! Dale fondly known as Sarge when he marched in Westshore was one heck of a nice man. He brought Dave Knapp (contra) and Dale JR with him along with Fenninger when they came to Westshore. The entire gang used to stay at my place while they marched and one weekend Dale showed up with a van...he had traded his car in on it so we could all drive to the corps shows together rather than riding the bus...anytime anyone new joined the corps Dale was one of the first ones there to make that person feel welcome and let them know he was there for them...and then he would invite them to stay at my place too !!! LOL One weekend he actually suggested I start looking for a bigger place to live... Oh and man could he and Dale Jr play !!! whew ! As he would have said, For an old Fart I can still play pretty well!
  17. I got the Serenade flyer at rehearsal yesterday and was so bummed to see the Cabs Field Corps wont be joining us this year....but, still a great line-up and the mini-corps concert is going to be even better than last year...CANT wait ! hey Jim, last night we had an accident at exit of Harvey Taylor Bride (my front yard) and it took forever for someone to respond...so I think you should proceed with the PARTEA
  18. I will see if Bob, Nelson or Brad can get you some stuff...Wish I would have read this before rehearsal yesterday...Bob marched in the 70s so he would know...

  21. The parking is part of the torture ( I mean fun of the evening) Tell her to join us early for a cocktail and me-ander to the Forum with us...or see if you can fin-aggle her into going to the after show party at the Crown for a sippee or two... Will cross my fingers.
