  1. Box 5 = Elizabeth Forward High School in Elizabeth, PA. Awesome pressure, perfect amount of warmth, everything was the berries. Box -5 = some middle school in NC where we stayed for FirstBEAT in 2005. Freezing cold, to the point of feeling like it was actually too hot, similar to the feeling of liquid Nitrogen hitting the skin.
  2. As the creator of this thread... wow. I know its the off-season, but just. wow. The good discussion doesn't hit until about page 7. And yes, a Star '90-type program would be effective with the soundtrack of "300"
  3. ... I am still in awe. So, last night, I went and saw the new film "300" and experienced probably the best action movie I've ever seen. Those of you that saw it yesterday, or are going to see it tonight know (or will) that one of the most stunning features of this film, is the soundtrack. The original score by Tyler Bates is simply breathtaking. I believe that this film, will be one of the biggest blockbusters of this decade, and its soundtrack will rank in sales among Saturday Night Fever. In other words, its going to be great drum corps music. Any one else who has seen it agree? -Chadwycke
  4. Upstate New York with a jacked up focal.... Buffalo, NY? Dunn Tire Stadium? Glassmen were there in 05 and it SUCKED. The hornline laid down in the ballad to do some movement... half the horns were in the infield and when they got up, it looked like Mars sneezed on the unis. Not really horiffic performance conditions, but when your uniform volunteer has to brush off almost the entire corps before encore, not a great time.
  5. Hahah, he also is on brass staff at a certain drum corps from northwest OH. But yeah, kudos to the Maroon and Gold, very classy.
  6. Wow, this is one of the first times I HAVEN'T gotten that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach as I read DCP. Btw, I thoroughly enjoy diesel fumes. From EVERYONE'S busses.
  7. Ahh... Kevin Namaky (marketing manager)... Glassmen center snare 97-01 (dates?). amazing chops. just sayin'...
  8. This piece, if not marred and kept in pretty original form for brass with some melodic percussion, (vibes and spare cymbals) could be a very very beautiful chart. I'm not a big Cadets fan, but I'd definitely be cheering on this piece.
  9. Yeah, the Columbus show was amazing, considering I really ENJOYED Carolina Crown's show. Blue Devils, Vanguard, Glassmen, and Spirit all had amazing showings as well.(ONLY SHOWS I SAW! SORRY PC, MANDARINS, AND CAP REG!) This finals week should really be heated up competitively and I'm looking forward to what the outcome may be. The fireworks were a bit distracting, although concluding BD's onfield warmups with the fireworks boom was pretty sweet. not gonna lie.
  10. Ok, since the consensus is for the most part, that Wal-Mart is an evil corporation/The Man/ yadayadayada, why not another chain retail store that can provide low-cost merchandise for the people of DCI? Be it Target, K-mart, wherever, we need a cheap place to buy stuff for drum corps.
  11. You know, being someone who marches, one thing always brightens my day when it comes into view either on tour, or during spring training. That thing, is Wal-Mart. Yes, ladies and gentleman, Wal-Mart. What makes this shopping supercenter so great? It has everything necessary for drum corps. Bungee cords? check. Gatorade/Powerade/Propel? check. Cheap sunglasses you dont have to worry about losing somewhere on the bus or at a housing site? check. Wal-Mart is pretty much a giant mecca for kids who march (myself included obviously) I guess the point is... why doesn't Wal-Mart sponsor DCI/a drum corps? has any idea such as this been stated previously, and I just need to use the search tool? any input is appreciated.
  12. "Air Only" "DAHHH!" "What part of air only dont you understand?" "Sorry!" "Once again, AIR ONLY!" "DAH!" "25, on the ground, lets go!" *after pushups* "For the third time, air only." "DAH!" "Go run and tell the drumline you're stupid. now!"
