  1. So how did it go yesterday??
  2. These are the words you love to see...N Y Skyliners rehearsal. Bring it back SKY! You are missed by the fans. Are you still in Dover,NJ?
  3. Looking forward to seeing you back out on the street in September. Keep it going SKY you are really missed on the competition field.
  4. Who is going to the Elks Convention next weekend, and where is everyone staying. Its a good time for a preseason party!
  5. I am reading this post with interest and some confusion. I am glad to see that there is another new all age corps starting up. The more corps the better. But I do not understand some of the things in this thread. It sounds like the people starting the new corps where in charge at the Skyliners the past few years, and sounds like some friction is starting between the new corps and the Skyliners. I give credit to anyone who is willing enough to want to start a new corps in this day and age, however, it seems strange that you would want to start it in an area where there is tremendous competition for members. The Skyliners have been small the last few years, and didn’t finish too well last year. If this was the result of recruiting problems in the area, why would the people who ran that corps want to start another one in the same area? Wouldn’t you want to go to an area less populated with all age drum corps, unless there is something to this issue that the new corps is trying to prove something to the corps they left! It is hard enough for corps to survive in today’s society and economy, why would anyone want to start something to hurt another corps? I hope there is some confusion here and the thread is misleading, because the unfortunate result could be the new corps never gets started and the older corps suffers from the controversy and the drum corps community losses 2, not 1 but 2, all age corps. Hopefully this is a misunderstanding and the DCA can grow by another corps. If true, however, hopefully DCA will look at this and see if there really is a problem, because it will affect ALL corps!
  6. Wow SKY! An original show should be awesome. Will you be teaching it at the open house? I would love to hear an original show with the Skyliner sound. Good luck guys!
  7. Wow, Skyliners look like they may actually be trying to make a comeback. You have been struggling for a lot of years, good luck with 2007. It will be nice for the drum corps community, of today, to experience the return of the legacy that was the Skyliners. Best of luck, can't wait to see the show.
  8. Hey Guys, it's November now.... You have to have more information to give us.
  9. Don't keep us waiting, who else is on this staff? We know you must have the names by now...why wait!!!!
  10. Well, when are we going to hear more? Inquiring minds want to know.
  11. Wow, how do you pick 3 years out of 60 something with the music of Sky? As a long time fan I would have to say 1971, 1975, 1982, 1987, 1993. Sorry I couldn't narrow it down anymore. Wish you the best of luck in 2007, bring the Skyliners back for us!!!!
  12. Thats pretty interesting. Did you go to the Alumni show, I would love to see some of those numbers!!
  13. With the great wealth of music that Maynard has produced, the entire DCA could do a tribute and no two Corps would have to play the same tunes. There is enough of a variety of style to cover all the different Corps. RIP MF
  14. Can't wait for DCA opening day.... where are the Corps practicing before the show?
  15. Dover is the place to be, for DCA fans!!!! Best show in the Jersey area in years. Where else can you see all your local favorites (Cabs, Bush, Sky, Hurcs, and Sun)and the best from the South(Gold and Corpsvets)!! Plus the outstanding lineup of exhibitions. I will definitely be there!!
  16. Without a doubt, the Skyliners bari lines of the 60's, 70's and 80's, had to be the loudest. It didn't matter if they had 9 or 14, or anywhere in between, individually and as a line they were incredibly loud, and CLEAN! Wanna get a feel for the way it used to be, catch the Skyliners Alumni at Harrisburg in April, they will probably damage the Forum again!
  17. There was none better than the Late Great George "Sidemouth" Richardson. Followed by the unending list of Skyliner soloists, way too many to list.
  18. Wow what a year for DCA. Lots of good Corps. Look at the progress over the season. Watch out for the two Corps who have improved the most this year, Bush and Sky. They have been very steady in their progress over the season. This will continue into prelims and you can expect both Corps to make a major push. Can Bush pull off the upset of the undefeated Bucs before all is said and done. I expect to see Sky finally get the recognition they deserve and once again be lighting up the stadium on Sunday night. They showed at West Haven that they are primed and ready to return to finals. Good luck too all, it will be one of the most memorable DCA's in a long, long time!
