To GCS & MCL... Thanks for your awesome parking lot exhibition!! After rehearsal on Sunday all I wanted to do was get off of the 12 new blisters on my feet...until we were told that y'all had extended an invitation to listen to your shows. They were so cool!!! All season, I've missed catching other corps shows. I'm glad I finally got the opportunity to hear you guys!! THANKS!!! 2006 is going to ROCK!!! See you all soon!! now...about the chili cook-off... :P

I say they'd need to build a lot more rest stops between Nashville & Atlanta, first. One for every member in both corps. And install really big fans. Oh...and we'd win. :P

After having Finals there for so many years, they had to write them and put them in the books. So that drum corps fans and participants alike could know which laws to break. ^0^

Then maybe some corps need to re-evaluate their fund-raising methods. Are we in corps to make money or to perform? Is DCA about promoting drum corps or about lining the pockets of the corps that perform at the World Championships? I'd be willing to bet that for many corps, the money earned by a Prelims/Finals performance doesn't come anywhere near to what they earn working football, hockey, basketball, NASCAR, etc. events. Plus the individual person-to-person fundraisers. Bake sales, garage sales, car washes, mud-wrestling tournaments, the list goes on and on. If those corps that are blessed enough to not have to fundraise to be able to stay active, wonderful for them. But maybe if they did do a few fundraisers, the DCA community would have the opportunity to expand because the decision could be made to "allow" non-northeastern cities host the Championships. More fans = more people to perform for. But then, that goes back to the original statement of my post. >>sarcasam on<< Cyclical arguements are such fun. >>sarcasm off<<

Talk about stirring the pot... <**> Sheesh!!! DCA has bids that it's looking at. One from one city and one from another. DCA will select the city that it selects. I'm almost 100% sure that they're looking at the venue vs. revenue aspect as closely as we are. And as hard as it is to accept sometimes, this decision is out of our hands. (For most of us, anyway.) I'm pretty sure you're right. The 2nd base line is usually considered the "47 1/2" yard line on side one of the field. :)

I know this kid. His mom can play her keyboard right over him when he's sleeping (with all the cymbals and toms attached) and he won't wake up. His dad can be wailing "Georgia" and the kid won't stir. But watch out when he wakes up! B) And yes, Renegades, he's seven years old. ^0^
