  1. Gary Baker emailed me this morning, all good
  2. While I appreciate the effort, really, I seem to see a lot of camera's hitting the features, particularly multi-tenor features, just as they hit their last beat. I'm not a tenor player, but I really appreciate a hot section. My DVD froze right in the middle of the Bucs, very disappointing to sit through the whole show for that to happen. :(
  3. it will be really good to hear you folks again. I'm an Erie T-bird from the seventy's and eighty's and you were always our nemesis, but you had a good corps with some great music. Welcome back.
  4. Thats what I said, SoloSlop420 Doh! That there just wasn't right. Bump for Mr. Ferguson.
  5. Leadsop420, you been at buffet 4 HOUR! You go now!
  6. The Thunderbirds legally dropped the "alumni" from our name. Our proximity to Rochester and age/family issues made it impossible to march all Tbirds alumni. We're a senior (or all-age for PC) drum corps who competes when we get enough folks together. oops, just saw gary's post.........nevermind
  7. Hamburg Kingsmen Also miss the Pittsburgh Rockets (best version of Patton that year, cabs & brigs played it too) and the Canadian Commanders (in-a-god-a-davita drum solo).
  8. Great show idea! we did bump city and still a young man in a horn blues band we had. great stuff. Sorry I live in PA and a Tbird or I'd join ya. Best of luck to ya.
  9. Tiger beat magazine says "Win a date with Cheese! He's dreamy!" I love ya, my bass brotha.
  10. try to be nice to people and they just get nastier. flubadub, you are so wrong. it's the other way around. the dialog started out very complimentary. leadsop420 stated his opinion & Liz poproci-duguy jumped on him with her dry as a prune wit and all hades broke loose. We like drumlines, everyone else seems to like drumsets. who cares? we state our opinion, you state yours. what is wrong with you people? Nick, you can shut up now too. we'll do our talking with our instruments. on the field. don't bother to respond to this, i'm gone.
  11. I just ordered the DVD for minicorps and finals ( can I hold 20 dollars, Nick?), so i'm going to withhold opinions till I see everyone. I'll let you watch it with me leadsop420, you bring the beer. lets get over all this stuff. life's too short. we do it our way, they do it theirs, the poor bast&*ds. We didn't mean for this to get unpleasant. We're just sharing our views. wow, I'm back reading here. Liz actually likes the TBirds? I'll be darned, you're in the Bridgemen too? thats cool. you finally said where you do drum corps. ok. don't take leadsop420 so seriously, he screams even in print! We just nod our heads, smile and drink his beer.
  12. "the shows are 10 minutes long. try to show the complete shows please ESPN2. it's hard enough trying to figure out what some of these corps are doing without coming into the middle of a story. Thanks.
  13. I just can't imagine anybody beating the Renegades minicorps. i've never heard anything like that before, maybe at a Buddy Rich or Maynard show. Speaking of Maynard, he's playing at our corps banquet. details on the TBird website. Dinner, drinks and MF. Congrats to the Renegades on a fantastic show.
  14. thank you, Mike. I wish you the best in wherever you go next. San Francisco?
  15. well, the TBirds, Mass Brass, Golden Eagles and Ghostriders had meetings and came up with a vision of forming a circuit of minicorps (hyphen optional) called MCA. We didn't envision (sp) a bunch of guys standing there playing little concerts and reading music off of stands. If you're not going to move, you might as well bring out folding chairs too. I doubt the TBirds will want to participate in anything like that. As for I&E at DCA's, it's their game so whatever. we didn't even know who was going to DCA's until August. Unfortunately 2 of our soloists decided not to go. we had to change our opener at the last minute to cover their loss with a song we had rights to. Our second baris went to Cru, so I learned the 2nd bari part and mike h. (sop, formerly with the Bucs) learned the 3rd Bari part. we learned a few moves the last week and up to 8:00 that friday night to try to put on a decent show. the thought of using music stands was never even considered. That we even took 4th is a blessing to me and why you don't hear any complaining about the score : ) there it is. cya
  16. OK no problem Note that it wasn't a TBird who said that comment about us getting screwed. Believe me, i didn't get screwed this weekend. I woulda remembered.
