It doesn't matter if you haven't played trumpet for 30 years or 30 months, grab a mello - we will work it out! If you don't have one - we can get you one to use :)

MCL had wicked turnouts in percussion and guard - especially for a third-year corps. 2006 will be incredible for us. I'm pumped. -

Some people who have never done this before have had an impression about drum corps that "they don't know enough" - believe me - even if you haven't played since high school in 1970 or whatever - by September, you'll be a monster. Our approach to fundamentals is incredible and you will learn a lot about being a musician. If you have tried out for a junior corps, but didn't make the cut - or cannot afford it, come with us. The DCA experience is by far the best drum corps bang for your buck. The drill is challenging, the music is challenging, but written to the abilities of each section. On behalf of the brass section, come on out and let's beef up the hornline from last year. We were awesome (and champions) in '05, but we want MORE and that "more" is you! Information galore at our website http://www.musiccitylegend.org -

I have not received any pics yet of open house. Hopefully they will make their way to me soon. We have a good idea of what this year's show will be - and it will be awesome. I can say the difficulty will be up there - and we have a show that will make our weak spots from last year - our strongest. The opener in '05 (Cenotaph) was the one of the favorite parts of the show for me. (Sorry - I'm partial to Oh Happy Day because I was featured in a duet) Sit tight - after this weekend more will be revealed. -

Great - bash a corps - especially mine. Love to see that. Who are you again? Are you relevant in some way or did I miss something? -
Hearing how good military ensembles such as yours stay wonderfully in tune, you prove that whether you play on G Bugles, Piston-rotors or radiators with a mouthpiece - it is the discipline and musicianship of the performer that determines the uniformity and precision of the brass sound. It is not easier music, as a couple of misguided souls have pointed out. Nor is it just equipment. Reading, granted, was wonderful this past summer. However, most DCA and DCI corps playing B-flats would find themselves hard-pressed to match or top the perfectness of the military drum corps ensemble sound. We should take this post more seriously than that of a mere opinion.

best site never to host finals

I love Illinois - don't get me wrong. But the Nashville area has rpven to draw in the crowds. It is a hotbed of marching band activity and interest in the Drum Corps activity that is partially responsible for fueling the rapid growth of our own corps. Between MTSU, Vandy staduim and The Coleseum and the many schools in the area who would welcome Worlds with open arms? It's a slam dunk. Come on, Mr. Acheson, make it happen. -
Hi Bren, I'll chime in on that one. It was an AWESOME camp today. Solid numbers in all captions, especially percussion and guard. Seeing 8 snares going at it in our show-and-tell was just mind-blowing. With a few guard from last year not returning for open house - we still had over 15 men and women show up with equipment today. They were impressive as well :) We've got a great staff this year, and our show (not to be announced publicly yet - still hush-hush) for 2006 is conceptually wild, and will be lots of fun. In MCL land - things are much different with a lot of change, but a lot staying the same. It will be a very exciting year, and quite possibly an open-class one.

Junior/Senior Corps Announcements discussion.
radiosteele replied to gdisney's topic in DCP Member Service Center
A fourth category for specific corps annoucements would be a great idea, as opposed burying it in the no-mans land of community forums. We use ours a lot, but do not see much going on in most of the other corps threads. Kudos to the poster coming up with this alternative. The question is, would the admins consider this a more reasonable means of clutter management, or stick with their devised plan? -

Where are the member complaints about the way it has been? I have yet to see a "i think this will be better" post, except from those few that have faciliatated this change. Where is the proof in all of that? This really builds unnecessary walls and fragmentation in this online drum corps community. For something that is supposed to increase communication, knowledge and interaction of those who are fans or participants, this is a sizable step backwards in functioning as such. (My $.02) -

Having Mr. Hullett and Mr. Murphy on board is an HONOR!!! Those of you new MCL members who don't know your drum corps history, it's like having your own Drum Corps Yoda and Obi-Wan. /star wars nerd
