  1. Cadets popped a 19.6 in drums last night. Bravo! I saw their show in Murfreesboro...they deserve the trophy this year.
  2. Yeah, it might be cheaper, but the Bluecoats aren't winning quite like the Cadets. I'm a college student as well, so I understand the importance of low corps fees. But, when it comes down to it, a person might win a ring or a caption award with the Cadets...that's probably not going to happen with the Bluecoats. Disclaimer: I'm not bashing the Bluecoats by any means...I really like the Bluecoats.
  3. With all the criticism and hatred the Cadets receive, it feels REALLY good to have them on top right now. Although, it may not be the best year for quality of shows - although that's fairly debatable - it really feels good to be a Cadets alum right now. I'm giving this year a 10.
  4. <**> Cadets deserved drums last night, hands down.
  5. Before I say anything, know that I am not a fan of amped voices...and I'm really not a fan of amplification all together. That being said, I accept amplification. Why?...where else am I going to go for this level of performance by 14-22 year old kids? There is no other organization on the planet that is anything like DCI. Amplification or not, I love drum corps. Am I a push-over?...maybe...but I can't just walk away from something that I love. It's kind of sad that DCI has a stranglehold on drum corps. There's nothing to challenge it. But, there's nothing we can do about it. So, I accept it for what it is...or, what most of you may say, what it has become. For those who truly hate amplification to the point of not going to the shows anymore - there's always DCA.
  6. from what I've seen, the Cadets show is by far the hardest of the year...just my opinion
  7. Ok, he didn't break anything. It's inflammation of one of the tendons in his wrist, aka tendonitis. I talked to him about a week and a half ago...end of story. Maybe the sling is there to show that he's not playing because of an injury...not because he screwed up.
  8. I got to talk to him recently. He said it's pretty painful, but he's going to stick with it. He's a tough kid...hopefully it won't get to the point that he can't play anymore. I wish him the best of luck.
  9. Madison is THROWIN' right now. I saw them last night in Columbia and it was really nice...good, consistent sound and a very hard book. I'll see Cadets tomorrow in St. Peters. I'm looking forward to it.
  10. He looks a bit old to still be marching anywhere...and his drum does sound like crap.
