  1. Great job guard!! Not a show you can hum afterwards IMO but still very nice. I have Cascades ahead of them though.
  2. LOVE that ballad! Congrats Cascades for an incredible season!!!
  3. First viewing of Legends - I see why they made Semis! Great show and great drill!! Congrats on a spectacular season!!
  4. I'm certainly not a 'tween' but I'll be disappointed if BD takes it this year. I just quite frankly don't see how this program/performance isn't placing fourth (or even 5th behind SCV) even without a penalty. While I think the brass sounds amazing and the percussion near the top, I don't think their guard is 1st or 2nd and the GE and overall difficulty just isn't there for me. I really can't stand the kpop segment (there really is nothing difficult about the choreography here IMO) and the guard just has minimal unison work as compared to the rest of the top 4 or 5. The storytelling aspect of it comes across as cheesy and again, takes performers away from difficult equipment work far too much of the show as compared to the rest of the top 5. The field is very cluttered and their classic/impressive use of props we have come to associate them with over the past few years just isn't there.
  5. For me, I'd say Crossmen have the weaker show of the 10-12 placing corps. I'd place Blue Stars 10th, Boston 11th and The Academy 12th. But since The Academy is so far back, I'd lean toward Colts over Crossmen and Troopers. But, that's just me.... Do I think we'll see a change in who makes Finals based on the current Top 12, no, but it sure would make it exciting!
  6. I agree that the Colts narrators came through quite well but the Troopers singer not so much. She was my least favorite of the vocalists as you could hear her breathing very hard and other movements while the other vocalists weren't in positions that kept them running all over the field. Really not a fan of the singing....but that's for another thread. The parts where it became close to unbearable were actually with corps at the top - particularly Phantom (that organ), SCV and Bluecoats. Blue Devils also had some moments too. It was probably just the theater I was in but the electronic goo was over bearing indeed.
  7. This may have been discussed pages and pages ago but was the volume at anyone else's theater viewing off? It was too loud at the one I was at to the point that all of the mic'd equipment was just TOO MUCH! There were times where people were literally holding their ears. I hope that is not the sound to expect when streaming DCI Live on your own. I agree with a lot of posters that the multi-cam shots are just too much right now. There were sooo many missed moments of drill and effect that the high cam would provide but instead they focused on individual performers (for waaayy too long) which is great for mom and dad but really takes away from the show for us. Looking forward to doing the high cam on my own stream tonight and tomorrow. And I'll be ######, last year at the theater outside Atlanta we missed all of SCV b/c of a missed satellite link due to rain and it happened again last night...same theater. Rain here caused us to miss the first half of Cadets. It sputtered a couple times in Crown and I think everyone about fell out of their seats in anger. Saw someone above mention drops for Crown - I didn't see any by them. But I counted three by Blue Devils (one flag, one solo rifle toss and one of the duo-member tosses on the ladder).
  8. I'm sure this is answered in a thread specific to DCI Live somewhere but I have a couple quick questions hopefully someone can answer: 1. If you purchase the bundle can you watch on two separate devices as long as you log off one of them? I'd like to watch some at work but then log off and re-log in a personal computer at home. 2. Does it work with Apple? I'd like to stream through Apple TV on the big screen. 3. Can you switch between high-cam and multi-cam or do you have to decide when you purchase the bundle and stuck with that option? I sure hope there are no or few issues...I expect soooo many people to be logged in to this (which is awesome!).
  9. I agree...congrats Cascades!! So happy they made Semi Finals.
  10. What a jump by Genesis - a shame for them they didn't do that Tuesday and get a medal!
  11. Oh wow...super close, especially where the likely cut-off will be around Legends and 7th Regiment!
  12. I think we'll see corps like Genesis, Spartans and Legends get even closer next year to SCVC and BDB. Rumor has it that Genesis wants to move up to World Class in the near future. They may make that move prior to taking over BDB/SCVC. If Legends and Spartans (and maybe even 7th Regiment and Music City) can keep strong membership they may be able to take over the Open Class West Coast Throne that has sat with BDB and SCVC for so long now.
  13. You can already tell scores are going to be very interesting. With Music City already above Cascades latest score, this has me a bit concerned for them. I REALLY want them to make Semi-Finals. It will be very interesting to see how things work out.
  14. I think DCI needs to reconsider making today free for the DCI Live up until the theater broadcast. I'd love to know how many people are watching right now. The free exposure for the corps performing at this time would be great for these corps.
  15. I hope they show clips of all corps that are performing before The Academy at the theater tonight. It would be a lot to fit in, but it would still be nice to see.
