  1. I would say a combination of two....when I was in 10th grade I saw a video of Santa Clara from 1974 ( we were playing Young Person's Guide for Marching Band), and about the same time I saw the Philadelphia Police Cadets Drum Corps perform live at a marching band competition...so the next summer I marched with PAL on contra...and I've been hooked ever since...marched Reading Buccaneers in 1983 and 1984 and hopefully 2005...and this is my daughter's 3rd season with Lehigh Valley Knights Guard...and I haven't missed an Allentown show since it started in 1977...so yea...I'm hooked....
  2. I just found out I can go to DCA Finals on Sunday night...anybody have 2 decent tics (together), so I don't have to wait until I get there to buy them? Send me an e-mail...
  3. I wasn't there and I need some reviews to help me understand how Bucs ended up in 4th again....any help?
  4. I think you'll still be ok....I know there are older people than you in some of the IW Guards (Assembly Line, The Guard, etc)........or at least they are around your age...I am 46 and I'm hoping to march Reading Bucs guard next summer....I'm giving myself from now til then to get into better shape and build up those lungs and heart and muscles.....then hopefully I'll do it....This is my Mid-Life Crisis and welcome to it.... But anyway...I say go for it...32 is definitely not too old...it will probably be the dancing that is more trouble than the equipment work...at least for me that will probably be the case....
  5. I forget what guard it was...they are on the Fan's Favorite DVD....might have been Pride...wearing yellow body suits...performed to Channel One Suite...I think that is the most perfectly designed indoor show I have ever seen...and I've seen alot...there doesn't seem to be a movement, form or portion of work that doesn't fit....incredible....
  6. This definitely one of my favorite Phantom shows...especially the ending...raw power and energy.....I remember seeing them a few times that summer...and I must admit that as impressed as I was with them musically, I was not impressed with them visually (drill) and I do think it was one of their weaker guards...but that hornline,,,,wow!
  7. This is one of my favorite opening statements to listen to full volume....the singing, and then the brass build up....priceless....
  8. Totally agree...unequaled in creativity and skill....( shoulda won)
  9. Jim: E-mail still not getting through (see below)...although I did get yours....the records in your original post...are they the only ones you're looking for? I have alot of records at home, and surprisingly, I don't remember exactly what years and albums..... 10. I tried to e-mail you, but the e-mail was returned undeliverable...still looking to buy some vinyl?
  11. The Light Brigade...! The only guard to get a Standing "O" at the Regional in Norristown this past weekend...a real "hyped" show....and it actually had some semblance of meaning a purpose to it...most of the guards these days seems to do great stuff, but the music is more like background noise than the driving force of the show...and it just doesn't make sense...they announce the name (theme) of their show, but the show itself doesn't seem to have anything to do with the theme...oh well....it's good stuff anyway...
