  1. Finals wasn't through the Fan Network...it was through DCIFinals.com. You had to pay extra in addition to your Fan Network membership fee to get finals...I believe Finals will be at DCIFinals.com for this week only...I think?
  2. whew...finally made it through Cavies without any problems....
  3. except for the very end...I got to see the guys crying about 6 times before the feed froze...
  4. Just watched Boston's last 10 seconds five times...then the feed froze...time to pause and play again...
  5. lotta looping and pixilating in Boston's show...
  6. that's why I'm sitting here with two laptops.. :-(
  7. my multi is still freezing and looping...and sometimes skipping...I think I just watched the same 8 bars from Blue Knights 5 times in a row...make that six... :-(
  8. Every few minutes I keep getting a message that the video I am watching is not available...that I should check back later. I have to close the window..pause..then play again to get back to live...and every once in a while the picture starts to break up...and it keeps repeating sections...like rewinding a few seconds....
  9. It's 5:36 EST and all I'm getting is the DCI logo moving around...should I be getting any streaming? I am logged in....and the counter is counting...but just a rotating Championships logo...
  10. yes...but still it all comes down to the numbers
  11. Now we can figure out who's gonna win it all....I don't follow the judges enough to know who favors whom.... 2013 World Championship Judging Panels: World Championship Prelims Thursday, Aug. 8 General Effect Visual: Mickey Kelly, Dan Niebauer General Effect Music: Joe Allison, Jeff Harper Visual: Michael Thompson Visual Analysis: Ken Giese Color Guard: George Oliviero Brass: George Boulden Music Analysis: Andy Cook Percussion: Martin Griffin World Championship Semifinals Friday, Aug. 9 General Effect Visual: Kyle Miller, Frank Morris General Effect Music: Nola Jones, Ken Turner Visual: Juno Orefice Visual Analysis: Tim Ochran Color Guard: Debbie Torchia Brass: Mark McGahey Music Analysis: Jay Kennedy Percussion: Glenn Fugett World Championship Finals Saturday, Aug. 10 General Effect Visual: Richard Kemp, Marie Czapinski General Effect Music: John Bell, Wayne Dillon Visual: Michael Turner Visual Analysis: Michael Lentz Color Guard: Lee Carlson Brass: Albert Lo Music Analysis: David McGrath Percussion: Jeff Prosperie Read more: http://www.dci.org/news/view.cfm?news_id=d215b0df-3d2a-4311-b471-858adce1bd42#ixzz2bOoti6A8
  12. I do...believe it or not...and this panel may help some corps get into finals...but the comment I responded to referenced Cadets and SCV..so we're talking already in finals...not getting there...but doesn't the score and placement on Saturday night hinge only on the judges for Saturday night (except for maybe the caption awards)...which would mean today's judges have no impact on Saturday nights results...right?
  13. such a great show...one of my all time favorites....was that also the malaguena year? If not...that was a great one also... and while I echo alot of the sentiments on here...I never really saw Bridgemen as a comedy corp...I saw them more as entertaining/fun although they had some elements of comedy....VK...now those were comedy shows...
  14. won't matter...only panel that matters is finals...whoever the judges favor there will win...that's why I favor a championship of averaged scores...levels the playing field a bit...
  15. Is TOC judged with the same sheets and the same judges as DCI?
  16. Is part of the caption scoring this way to allow for lower overall corps to win a caption...actually,,,has any corps ever won a caption but missed finals? In 2004, my daughter marched with the Lehigh Valley Knights Guard (Div. III)...they had the highest guard score in prelims & semis (and pretty much all season), but their overall score was too low to perform in finals, so someone else...not as good as them...won the guard caption award. When I marched All Age corps in 1983, the Rhode Island Matadors killed everyone in guard that season, but their overall score was too low to move into finals. DCA expanded finals one spot so the Matadors could perform and get their guard award....which is fair? As for the overall scores...I'm kinda liking what TOC did...average the whole season and add the finals score to that.
  17. It is DC International...maybe all the finals judges should be from abroad...not having seen or judged any of the finalist corps up to that point...
  18. I had forgotten that...thanks for the clarification...
  19. sound crapped out after Phantom too...low volume and reverb from the stadium that were not issues for the first two corps...very poor streaming last night...Finals better be alot better
  20. really? so if I want to watch say...semis..or even Allentown this coming November 2013, they won't be there? My subscription is thru May 2014....
  21. the panels are different from prelims to semis to finals...aren't they?
  22. How 'bout Finals be judged by an entirely new slate of judges that have not judged any of the corps all season...preferably not even seen any of the corps...and have the corps perform in a random order (because we all know they are somewhat slotted based on their performance order)...
