I think the show is musically better. I haven't seen the video, so I'm not sure how well the visual design ties in, although from what I've heard it works well together. I agree that the singer needs to go. She is covering up way too much.

I voted for 2003. Although I don't think it should have won, I loved the show. I believe the only reason it didn't win is because competition that year was so tough. Also, it would have completed their winning streak (2000-2004).

I haven't seen or heard The Academy, but after seeing scores this high in mid/late July, I'm really looking forward to hearing the APD when it comes out. I was expecting a lot from the Academy when I saw that they're going to Finals with a full 135. Good luck to all Div. IIs.

I can see where Erick's comment is coming from. From the recording I've heard (from within the past week), there are parts in which the vocalist sounds off-key, although I'm sure it's just an early season thing that will be fixed as the season moves on. However, as I said before, I don't like the vocals at all. I'm sure they will make more sense after seeing a video of the show, but at this point they're just covering up the brass.

Well I just heard the BD show, and it sounded GREAT. After listening to the show, I can definitely understand how they are scoring so high this early in the season. The percussion sounded amazing. Also, the show has a lot of potential, so I can see this show doing very well by August.

Wow. That's pretty amazing for this early in the season. I want to see if they can hit 17 in the next couple of days. I haven't heard the show yet, but now I'm really looking forward to listening to it. A 15.60 from SCV isn't bad either. However, at this point, BD seems like the corps to watch out for (percussion-wise), although I'm sure the Cadets percussion scores will get higher and more competitive in the next week or two.

I haven't seen the show, but I have heard a recording. They sound great, but I can see how a viewer could be easily confused. The show seems like it moves from production to production very quickly. I also agree that the singer is very distracting, especially from a listening viewpoint. So far I am not a fan of the show, but who knows, maybe I'll start liking it as it progresses and gets better.

I may be entirely wrong, but I was under the assumption that VK was going to come back as a junior corps in 2007. In 2007 they wouldn't even need to raise a large amount of money for travel, since the DCI Finals are in their hometown of Pasadena.

Yeah $12.50 isn't bad at all. I'm still curious about how this all relates to the 2006 Olympic Games.
