  1. So how can you be 16 hours away from anywhere when we are only a 12 hr bus ride from Rockmart? ^0^
  2. Actually Texas hasnt had a sanctioned show yet......Heat Wave's demise last year and our unsuccessful effort to bring in another corps at pretty much the last minute meant that our show was exhibition only.
  3. Only 10 days left to make your plans to be at GCS Open House. Come on out and see what you have been missing.
  4. You are right.....and I didnt say a single bad thing about those kids either. My remarks were aimed at the irresponsible adults running the operation who have so far shown to me that its going to be an uphill battle if they continue to manage the corps the same way they are managing this horn sale. Dont get me wrong, I love the Troopers and I know how important the money from this horn sale could be for them and the fact that it seems to not be running smoothly is bad for them.
  5. Not sure what the final total was Ed but we had an anonymous donation of around $3000 to get the uniforms done. Not sure if the corps put up any money on top of that donation though. Not even sure how many jackets we had made either. I know we had enough for everyone with some spares to allow for growth.
  6. Thanks Ed. It was really more of a display of frustration in not getting a response from anyone about this. I emailed the guy listed as the person in charge of the sale, the corps director and half of the board of directors. I know in my job that if I dont handle a task that was assigned to me and folks start emailing my manager about it that I better have a darn good reason why I am ignoring potential customers and not doing what I am supposed to be doing. I just find it hard to believe that it takes a month to respond to an email or a phone message concerning the sale of this equipment. If the guy that is supposed to be in charge of the sale doesnt have time to handle it, find someone else in the organization that does. Its that simple.
  7. Thats ok....we have a member or 2 from New Orleans already. We can handle one more. :)
  8. Only 18 days left to make your plans to be at GCS 2007 Open House. Come on out and see what we have in store for '07....you wont be sorry. b**bs
  9. Heh....good luck with that. 3 weeks with no response from him either thru emails or voice mails.
  10. I call ########. I emailed several times as well as called and left multiple messages with no response. Its been almost 3 weeks with no word. #### even an email to the board of directors and the corps director didnt merit a response. Way to go Troopers....you are well on your way to getting back on the field if this sale is any indication.
  11. Gee...I'm no weatherman but we were watching the Weather Channel in the hotel on Friday night and everybody seemed to be predicting that it would be mostly moved out by the time Sunday morning rolled around.
  12. Ok...done. I saw it mentioned a couple of times but nobody ever gave a reasonable explanation as to why it could not be done. Like it was mentioned before in this thread....if you want to get it done you would get it done. If you dont then you will always find a reason why you cant get it done.
  13. Thanks for the kind words. One of our battery members voiced an opinion that a lot of us totally agree with.....we only wish that more people would have had the chance to see our show because we put together a kick ### show that we loved performing.
  14. I havent read all 27 pages of this thread so someone may have already mentioned this but why couldnt they cancel Saturdays prelims and just go with a one show Finals all day on Sunday and base the placings on one score rather than Prelims and then FInals? It wouldnt extend the time in the stadium and everyone would have had a level playing field to march on Sunday when the weather was much much nicer compared to Saturday.
  15. Dude....we never stopped. We had our first fundraising event the weekend after Finals at the Houston Texans first home game. Off season.....whats that?!?
  16. We love you Dream!! I really hope you guys seriously try to make it out to our show next year. That would be so cool and I promise to have a couple of kegs of fresh home brew ready for you after the show.
  17. Gulf Coast dues were $600 this year....up from $500 last year. But we have to travel so far each year that its hard to make it cheaper. Hopefully as the South circuit grows we can shorten our travel commitments each year and drop the dues back to down a bit. Its just so hard to keep the dues down when you have to travel halfway across the country just to get to a show thats in your region.
  18. Thanks for the help....I found a place called Beers of the World that sells homebrew supplies according to some stuff I read about them on the web.....I just hope they sell what I am looking for. I am going to give them a call in the morning before I head to the airport.
  19. I fly out tomorrow morning from Houston but I forgot to pack my CO2 tank for the homebrew onto our trailer that is headed up that way. The airline definitely isnt going to let me on a plane with a CO2 tank, so I need some contact info for a local shop that sells homebrew supplies in the Rochester area. I tried searching in Buffalo but the best place I found closes at 7 and I dont arrive there until 6:39 so they will be closed by the time I arrive. Any suggestions?
  20. PM me your cell # Chris and tell me where you are practicing. I dont have your number in my new phone....long story involving a broken screen on the old phone....I lost a lot of phone numbers when I had to switch to the new phone. Like I said we have a few things to run around and take care of during the afternoon on Saturday but we would love to come out and see the end of practice and head out for dinner afterwards.
  21. Yeah....you dont know the half of it. Luckily she has only had to break out the whip on the rookies a couple of times this year. ^0^ ^0^
  22. So....where is the party at Saturday night in Dallas? Jenny and I are coming up a day early. Probably drive up to Denton at some point during the day and maybe visit some friends in the Grapevine area too.....heck might even stop by the brew supply shop over in Richardson. Unless someone comes up with a better idea, we will probably hit the Flying Saucer in Addison or possibly Fort Worth for a few beers that night.
  23. Yeah....next year is definitely going to be interesting in terms of number of shows in the south. GCS will surely be at Rockmart again and of course in Nashville for DCAS Championships....couple that along with our own home show and possibly a Frontier hosted sanctioned show and that gives us 4 judged shows. I know the Dallas show wont be an official DCAS show since they are Central members but regardless it will still be a great opportunity to entertain the fans and get some feedback from the judges. Its only getting better every year in the southern region.....I cant wait to see what the future holds. I know I definitely am looking forward to seeing the CorpsVets at our show next year if the scheduling works out.
