  1. I feel fortunate that what I take away from drum corps is enjoyment from all the different styles and the great performances of all the corps. I have a feeling of kinship with the Scouts, but truly appreciate every show I see for how it entertains me. Some shows I may get a little bit more out of than others, but I try not to get caught up in placements and scores(no, I have never marched). Thanks to all in the world of drum corps for your outstanding efforts to entertain! Can't wait for Madison!
  2. Hey, see you in Madison at the finals. Good luck to you and Carolina Crown in '06!
  3. Mr. Rochau, I really enjoyed the 2004 shows at Menomonie, WI and Madison, well done!!
  4. I have only been following the activity for 2 years. I am curious as to why the Scouts finished 14th in 2002? Was this a surprise come finals time, or had they been scoring at about that level all year? I really have to believe they will be back with a vengeance this year, it seems as if they have had steady improvement on the field ever since missing the finals.
  5. ....really any year of DCI finals with corps 1-12. Please contact me if you have one you wouldn't mind selling. Thanks!
  6. I like "The Zone", can't wait to see it again on dvd.
  7. The Bluecoats won't even be on the top 12 DVD for 2005??
  8. I have only been into the activity since early 2004 season, my wife got me interested in it (she marched Div. 3 78-80, and had a corps reunion last year). I would like to get more dvds or even vhs tapes of shows. All I have right now is the Taste of Madison (75, 83, 88, 95, 97, 99 video, the rest audio only from 74-03), the Tour of Champions, and last year's 13th-24th place dvd. I am wondering what you guys would consider to be "essential" material to have. Cost is a factor for me, but I do believe eventually I will sink 98 bucks into the 2004 dvd (wish I would've bought jafar's for 50 bones). Other than that, I am looking for suggestions on what you believe is nice to have, whether it be a specific year of finals, or a certain dvd released by a specific corps. All replies are greatly appreciated!
  9. I didn't care for the show design, but the talent is undeniable. They are right where they belong, in my opinion. And this is coming from a huge Scouts fan.
  10. I really enjoy their show. There's very little difference between them, the Colts, and the Crossmen, quality-wise, IMO. Or even the Spirit and the Glassmen, for that matter.
  11. I am only in my 2nd year as a full-fledged fan, but after tonight's cinecast, I wholeheartedly agree with the anti-amplification sentiment. A side note: my poll on "Do you want woodwinds in DCI?" finished at No-46 Yes-3.
  12. It appears that the Cadets begin their show before the announcer tells them that they can take the field for competition. Am I missing something?
  13. My feeling is that I would rather not see this happen. Could this be stickied to the top of the page?
  14. I cannot wait to see PR's performance on the big screen Thursday! What does SUTA mean, BTW?
  15. What kind of maneuver is the rockford file?? I am just curious... :)
  16. I will address this with my first post here at DCP. I look at Drum Corps as an activity that is totally different than sports, in that I take enjoyment from each and every Corps, and cheer loudly for everyone who performs. The Scouts are my favorite, but I love watching just about anyone- Cavies, PR, even the Blue Stars and the Marion Glory Cadets. I have only been to 5 shows and have never marched in a corps, but I go to the shows for the music, the precision of movement, and the overall excitement of watching talented individuals doing what they love to do. I am also a sports nut, but with sports I cheer for a specific team, or specific players. When I see Drum Corps, I just want to see everyone do their best to succeed, and in the process, create enjoyable memories for me and many others. LONG LIVE DRUM CORPS! {and good luck to all!}
