  1. In the world of DCA Bush and Bucs are always strong in this area with this season being no exception, but this season Cabs' baris are really sounding great! My two cents, of course. Peace, Dennis
  2. Have a great weekend and performance Gold! I'll catch you cats up in Rochester! Peace, Dennis
  3. No offense to anyone else I work with or have worked with, but, this year's Govenaires tubas are terrific! There is nothing they cannot play! Check them out if you can! Peace, Dennis
  4. JC, It was great to meet you! What a terrific weekend of Drum Corps, and Patrick's......well, all I have to say is it is more than worth the trip! I can't wait to get back! I really, really enjoyed the Kilts program this season and wish you all the best in Rochester! Peace, Dennis
  5. Well, I just got back from the beautiful state of Minnesota and I would love to see DCA have championships out there someday! What a great bunch of drum corps people, terrific facilities, performance venues and lots and lots of polite, respectful, drum corps savvy fans!! Peace, Dennis
  6. These are all kinda cool for me: (in chronological order) 1977 - Prelims performance with the Bridgemen 1980 - Bridgemen Finals performance 1986 - Bush Finals/retreat 1992 - Bush Prelims 1996 - Bush Finals 2000 - Bush on the field singing of "The Perfect Year" before our Finals performance 2002 - Having my oldest daughter march in Bush's guard and conducting that brassline playing "Born on the 4th of July" 2004 - Having two of my daughers march in Bush's guard together with my sister! 2006 - Bush winning High Brass in Finals 2007 - Hearing the Cabs play my arrangements and being a part of the legacy. I hope my best moments are yet to come! Peace, Dennis
  7. You and Jeff Mitchell marched there together back in the Johnson Administration days right? (Lyndon....not Andrew!......now THOSE were bugles baby!!)
  8. Whoa.....settle down now! I have my own problems without being responsible for you too Fallon! You know come to think of it, anything you know about me in the Bridgemen is from like 1978 and I think the statute of limitations has worn off on that info! Don't you just LOVE this time of year?? I know I do!! Looks like Scranton is gonna be awesome! I will be in the land of 10,000 lakes (even though I understand from my Govie family that it is more like 14,000!) and enjoying the Midwest this coming weekend! Best of luck everyone!!! Peace, Dennis
  9. Depends......are the dentures in Bb or G?
  10. Ray......there's no crying in DCA Ray............
  11. He's the third tenor with Mitchell and Dorritie!
  12. I read the title of this thread and thought I had pulled a Rip Van Winkle! Whew!! Good luck to all this weekend! Peace, Dennis
  13. I've got it!!!! I finally figured out how to retire early and still stay involved in one of my favorite activities! Why have I not thought of this before! I hereby declare myself the Scott Boras of DCA! Any hired guns looking for an agent? I'm you're guy! I will negotiate the best deal for you for the '09 season! I love this time of the year!! Best of luck to everyone this weekend! Hope to see you in Kingston! Peace, Dennis
  14. Ok.......I should not respond as I am going to sound subjective to someone and get a nasty reply or PM which will make me ornery, but I will anyway..... There is no defense in this insane activity in which we all partake......only offense. So I'll take a shot at this and say......yes......the Bucs CAN be beaten. However, I think the Corps that is most likely to beat the Bucs..........IS the Bucs. By the way....ALL the judges in DCA have the gonads needed to make the necessary decisions on any given day. If you don't know that then you've never sat in on a DCA critique! Let's have a great last month of the 2008 DCA season! Best of luck to all the Corps and let's give those fans their money's worth!!! Peace, Dennis
  15. Ray, You promised you were going to cut down on your DCP posts! tsk tsk.
  16. Oh........I forgot about Holgate.............. should be interesting. Enjoy guys! Peace, Dennis
  17. Dear Mr. Krackin', There's also that Epic battle waiting to be fought...... Who will pack away more calories this weekend! You? Mr. Linton, or Minero?? Sorry I will have to miss that one! Have a great weekend and a terrific show! Sounds like a winner! Peace, Dennis
  18. You mean.......you can't tell the difference in the way they sound?
  19. Nice review! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts! It was a GREAT show and a GREAT night for DCA! Here's to a terrific season! Peace, Dennis
  20. This is a great thread. I have a lasting memory of the showers in Troy, NY. It must have been a thousand degrees that day. Humid. You needed a shower. The school had one shower head. The water was freezing and it was just a bit harder than a drip. Oh, the humanity! That will live with me forever.
  21. Looking forward to getting to MN for that weekend!
