  1. Hey all, Not sure if this situation was already posed...but it's worth a shot. What about that kid who just found out what drum corps actually was, or figured he/she was good enough to actually march at age 18. He/she auditions for the Cavaliers or Phantom Regiment at age 18, and gets cut. Same with age 19. Same with age 20. But finally, (s)he makes his/her dream corps at age 21, the age-out year. There's hundreds of reasons why they wouldn't go to other corps. It could be the money and travelling costs, or it could very well be they honestly don't know anything about drum corps, so they don't know that they have that option? Just a thought
  2. you're kidding, right? I don't even know how to respond to that without cursing, so I won't.
  3. 2001 Crossmen during the drum solo, and the entire closer
  4. wow. if I wasn't across the ocean for the entire summer...
  5. yeah i know that cavies have closed rehearsals during finals week...but you didn't ask about them, so I think you're in good shape :D
  6. really not gonna beat a dead horse, but that area of philly is pretty beautiful (the campus at least). i'm from philly...however if you were about 20 minutes south of that, then yes I can definitely see how that could have been a problem :D in 2005, crossmen stayed at archer city high school (i think?) somewhere in Texas (probably archer city). I know that that was the show site where a LOT of kids got stuff stolen by the local students. That might have also been the place where the football team came into our gym at 7:00am yelling and screaming on their way to practice...?
  7. go bones!!! that's all I gotta say :-D
  8. yeahhh go bones!!! the fact that they came out as high as they did made my day better. and my day hasn't even started yet.
  9. Heck yeah. I too am a member...well sort of. I had to take last year off due to school. And this year as well :( However, I age-out in 2008, and the ONLY corps I would want to age-out with is Bones. I'm real pumped to see how this whole thing works. The membership right now has extremely mixed feelings, as a whole. Most of us are bummed out. Some of us are pretty happy. However, for the most part, it's all mixed. If there's any current Crossmen out there now reading this (which you shouldn't be. You should be practicing :-D ), I beg you to come back. Now, I'm saying this, even though I can't come back...I have good reasons. Study abroad in Germany...sounds like fun...but I digress. Anyway, I know you're saying "I can't afford it." I took out a freaking $2000 loan in 2005 to march. I'm not saying you should do that (my credit rating is great though!), but what I'm saying is to figure it out. You've heard that soooo many times from the staff. Figure it out. There are tons of people who are willing to sponsor you. If you be proactive on it, then you should be fine. And, if there's any Crossmen supporters out there reading this (which I'm assuming is the rest of the people), I hope that you can support Crossmen even though there are changes. Things change. It's all a part of life. I personally ask everyone, as a former member/soon to be current member again to give us your 100% support. We need it. In the meantime, I wish Crossmen the best for this season. I'll be cheering them from 3000 miles away.
  10. I kind of wonder how much whole thing cost...
  11. He is. George Hopkins is alledgedly putting out a press release I'm guessing on the YEA website...which I'm also guessing in 5 minutes (which would be 5:00 PM, EST). The membership has already received an email, which (I'M HOPING) nobody will harass them for. It basically is the press release.
