  1. I don't mean anything by it because they only played the Pre-Show music. Just repeating the comments from Jim Coates when discussing the possible/ likely show concept with the corps....simply reporting the facts. Time will tell............
  2. Like someone said in an earlier post…there are many things that make a piece difficult. But on that note here is part of communication I had with Bertrand Moren who is the Composer of the “Dreams” piece Crown did in 2012……………he responded with ”I was absolutely impressed by the very high quality of the players of the Carolina Crown. The brass and percussion sections are absolutely fantastic !!!! We played the piece "Dreams" a lot of times here, and it was already difficult to play it when sitting on a chair in a concert. Carolina Crown play it during making a so great show, so I think it is absolutely fantastic !”.
  3. I have been at both camps and Phan89 is correct it will be a very intellectual show. I'm very interested in seeing how this show develops and the growth during the summer. It's going to be an interesting ride. They had the Pre-Show and into the opening statement at the December camp and it put a HUGE smile on my face!!
  4. I will let the "Cat out of the Bag"..................................................................................... Carolina Crown 2013 Production of........ "The Music Man"
  5. After spending the past 10 days volunteering with Crown- I just want to say “THANK YOU” to all the admin, staff, volunteers and mostly to the members of the 2012 Carolina Crown. It was a pleasure walking along side of you as I swelled up with immense pride as you took the field nightly. The highlight of my time there was where I got to personally witness something very very special Saturday night that I will never forget as you had a beautiful and moving performance I guess one could call it "Magic". To CrownBaritone, Nick Starr and other 2012 members that visit these forums- again I want to say THANK YOU and I’m so proud of what you did.
  6. Having spend the past 10 day on tour with Crown- all the can be said is give your all tonight and THANK YOU for all the great memories. No matter what happens tonight.....you will always be number 1 in my book.
  7. Well said and agree as I am able to up close and personable. The greatest feeling is being welcomed by the CMM as an alumni. Very happy days.
  8. ahhhhhhhhh......you forgot the old, has been and washed up part!!!
  9. If not....I can go and cry on Crown's food truck as I'm slinging hash.
  10. VERY VERY NICE!!!! I have now taken my daughter to her 3rd NightBEAT and I always get asked on the way home when is NB next year? Everything old becomes new again when we take a step back and look at things through a child's eyes.
  11. I tested my new (company issued) iphone for sound and video quality monday....so I'm locked and loaded waiting for my time "In The Circle".
  12. I stood on the sidelines and WOW I cannot wait myself to witness personally the final push…I get to go from “slinging verbal barbs” to “slinging hash” as I’m joining Crown as a volunteer on the last leg of their 2012 tour starting in Allentown.
  13. I spent some time Monday watching them in Charlotte......they are spending a lot of time cleaning and breaking things down.
  14. Corbin- I will (once again) offer to met you to discuss.
  15. I'm glad for the organization that the show was success.....I guess in the neighborhood of 7000 people in attendance. As far as complaints about the stadium.....What do you expect from a facility that was built in 1939? yes it's a pain getting into and out of your seats. But unfortunately (currently) there are no better places to hold the event (the NFL stadium will NEVER happen). Now with that said...the local university is building a football stadium- now could that be a possibility in future years? Time will tell. One thing no one has mentioned......the field timps/ bass in "Fanfare" were DEAD LOCKED IN from my side A 45 yard line (back against the press box) seat location.
  16. SSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHH that's what they are working on today!
  17. Typically it across the street in the ball fields/ park behind the elem school.
  18. 1. Memorial Stadium Sunday & Monday 2. Charlotte.....close to Uptown (Memorial Stadium)- Mac's Speed Shop, Penguin and Pinky's Westside Grill are very solid choices. If one want's to venture south into the Fort Mill area there are there are 2 very good choices....PM me if interested.
