  1. Would either organization really like that? Academy still seems to be in its infancy, and probably doesn't have the finances or the man power to run a second organization...much less send one on tour. And the Jester crew probably wouldn't like getting the Academy leftovers at auditions.
  2. On their website, they're still set for a fair tour. Could be an old schedule, though... http://www.jestercorps.org/page/page/4239369.htm
  3. 2004 DCI Div III finals percussion: Teal Sound (high) 17.10 Marion Cadets: 15.75 http://www.dci.org/scores/recap_v2.cfm?eve...38-6fe416cad4ad
  4. I thought that Phantom Regiment Cadets won DCM in 1997? http://www.corpsreps.com/scores.cfm?view=s...;showid=1997074
  5. anyone else confused about Mystikal being on that list? I thought they were already aproved...back in 2004. Any insight?
  6. I disagree with everyone who says size doesn't matter. Size is the tie breaker. A corps that can get 135 people to look clean and sound great will always beat a corps of 100 people that look clean and sound great. Scores are determined by quality of a show, of course, but a quality show with more people has a distinct advantage.
  7. VK has to prove that they can be as talented as they can entertaining. I know that was always a balance that the old Velvet Knights aspired to. You can have all the props in the world, but if you don't have the chops, you don't have the score...and we all know if you don't have the score, you don't have the finals spot. I'm not saying that they can't do it, I'm just saying that talk is cheap and very soon, they will be at the bat.
  8. I'm not bothered because...who cares? Good luck, Impulse.
  9. Uh....I'm pretty sure you can't have a #4 on a MAJOR TRIAD. It would not be a MAJOR or a TRIAD.
  10. Hooray, more predictions based completely on nothing!
  11. Hahaha....oh you people. One can hardly say a word on drum corps planet without calling down a storm, huh? What I actually meant had nothing to do with "academy" just with the fact that the big changes in the world championship line up are that both magic and esperanza are inactive this year, both very successful in div 2, and academy is coming in, another div 2 success. Any positive or negative connotation is purely in your mind, so stop looking for something to get you angry. You make me laugh.
  12. Out with the 2002 and 2003 div 2 champs and in with the 2006 div 2 champs
  13. In all fairness, I wasn't the one that started this topic of comparing div 3 to div 2 to div 1. I am pleased to have all the divisions and what they bring to the organization. I stand by that remark I made last summer. Also, I think the people that are on this forum would be a little biased, but *shhhhhh* don't tell anyone I said that.
  14. Don't get me wrong, I love division 3, but I believe it'd be rare to find someone that thought a division 3 show last year was more entertaining than Cavies or Academy.
  15. What was that opener? It sounds familiar, or at least parts of it do.
  16. Perhaps you could just explain how the ordinal number is calculated?
  17. I think that it'll be a battle between Spartans and OC for the top, with Spartans edging into first because of their considerably longer season than OC. I think SCVC and BDB will battle for third this year, not fifth with one of them possibly beating OC.
  18. Great job done by both bands. Hope everyone got a good look at that field. I believe that's where the Phoenix regional show is going to be.
  19. I think the largest jump will be by jester corps. If you check out their website (www.jestercorps.org) they are looking at some pretty good numbes this year in "section openings."
  20. Seems like that I in DCI is getting less and less prominant
  21. But OC is in the top 2 II/III corps with ECJ and Academy gone this year...any weakness could be hazardous
  22. I was just checking out the div 2 touring schedules on dci.org and when I selected Oregon crusaders, I noticed they didn't even start they're competitive season until JULY 26. Isn't that extremely late for a corps to start it's competitive season? Under the assumption that the schedule is accurate (which it might not be, I will admit) won't that be detrimental to the corps' spirit. I mean that's another month, nearly a month and a half, of rehersing without ever having performed than most other corps.
