  1. i was in magic '04 and we were in a pretty sweet hotel, we had to drive about 20 minutes to our rehearsal site (a field near a prison, kind of creepy) but it was ok, other than the not being able to make any noise because of the other guests, but it all worked out well...
  2. Vanguard '74, '87, '89, '93, '96, '99, '00 any year; Star of Indiana '89, '90, '91, '92, '93 (especially on '93); Phantom '89, '96, '00, '03; Cavaliers '95, '98, '02; VK '92; BD any year; Cadets any year (especially '84); Madison '99. of course I'd watch any corps, any year if the oppurtuity came, but these shows most of all.
  3. i dont know about you all, but i already have two different versions of '06 and i knew exactly where the yell was when i went to the Atlanta show, i couldn't talk for an hour i yelled so much... good times ^_^ ^_^
  4. '04 was a truly inspiring yell, '05 wasn't too bad, less than 04, yes. but more than some years
  5. agreed, but hitting exact dots in unnecessary, just getting within an inch or so does just fine, and the average marching member can do that...
  6. i'll talk more about them once i see them, but i dont know what to say having not seen them perform yet.. but i'm sure they're both excellent shows
  7. i'm on the border of florida/georgia, in a stinky hotel room, bumming off someone elses wireless internet, and already, i know this show is going to rock!!! i can't wait a;17ldnf;awja3enf;aoiwdvaw'q31rnggvqwen24-wawdfq2;34nqw0q!!!!!!!!!!
  8. all i know is this, the atlanta show that i payed 60$$ to get to, better not get rained on, or i will seriously cry. my only chance all summer..
  9. wow, i was torn as to what i should choose, i went with star '92 because i am a HUGE SoI fan...
  10. wow, they are acctually starting to take on a vanguard sound... deffidently a casella line..
  11. Cavies Snare Tilt During parade... Cavies during rehearsal... therefore i think we can safely conclude, its permenent... whatever i still think it looks good
  12. i was in the brass section at magic and i had alot of friends in the battery and pit and i know they got the short end on somethings as far as parts go i think on the low E marimbas the same Bb key or soemthing broke and when they went to replace the wood quality was all wrong or something, again im brass so i'm not all knowing just spreading the word on what i do know and i do know that one of the tenor players absolutely loved the drums at first because scrapes were a complete ease but later in the season i saw alot of signs that stated, Ludwig, the worst reason to play drums obviously a knock off of pearls matto... but i think the worst problem was that the bass drum rims were only 3-ply so the would break a lot when doing click effects and stuff i know bottom bass went through about 4 rims on each side, he was a beast (haha) hope this helps anyone
  13. wow i acctually kinda like it... please dont hate me but it looks neat but yea i agree with kyle, it was probably just for fun during a parade..
  14. just to add on, that is an amazing mouthpiece so yeah good luck!
  15. alright i would like everyone to know that with my purchase of Vanguard's 1975 performance my santa clara vanguard Collection is complete (not counting 2006, even though i have some clips) but now i am working on my BD collection, Cadets, Scouts as well as some other random corps and years thank you all for all your help and i look forward to some more suggestions!! now i must jam out!
  16. oh my goodness yes that was the first DCI DVD i ever bought, well acctually my mom boought but yeah i have watched taht a thosand times i even ripped the DVD off and put it on my computer and converted it all to .mp4 and then put it on my iPod i may be the only one in the world that watches Star Daily no matter where i am!!
  17. alright that sounds great, yeah sorry everyone i acctually have everything star, thats my favorite corps so...but yeah ill get to seasonpass to get some of these as soon as i get that paycheck thank you all that replied!
  18. Contra expecially during this little thing called the drum break, yeah and when you have a vis staff member that believes they, single handedly, is going to make this contra section strong. decides that we need to be at chop after every rep. but don't get me wrong, i hyped it everytime and wouldn't trade it for the world. but i also have equal respect for everyother section of the corps. and on the other hand gotta hand it out to the basses and Q because they have some heavy equipment so... yeah
  19. bluecoats '04 was pretty amazing but my favorite...2002 cadets, boogie woogie bugle boy....can't beat that
  20. I was going through my iTunes Library the other today trying to make an all Brass playlist of the best years of brass and while I have few, I would like to get some others opinions on seasons I could look into getting. Of course I have the staples that everyone should have including G-men '99, PR '90,'91,'92,'93,'94,'95,'96,'97,'98,'99,'00,'01,'02,'03,'04,'05 (did i miss any?), Star '91,'92,'93 and those sorts of things. The last thing I want to do is start a fight over what the best show DCI was or anything like that, I just want imput on what is good for a young-in' like myself to listen to. thank you all!
  21. pioneer is a great name it really has a strong meaning behind it and who would want too change that, plus who can take a corps seriously when the name is 'the thing'??? sure that would be tradition but...
