The Defending DCPI Division III Champion Nastalgia Percussion Ensemble would like to announce their DCPI-7 show entitled: "Repeat" Selections will include Restless, MeloHarmony by Cedrick Leavell, Layers by Richard Saucedo, and Echoes by Richard Saucedo. Music and visual package will demonstrate the theme of this program in various ways, and hopefully lead us to our goal for the season...REPEAT!!!

Nastalgia would like to announce their DCPI-7 show entitled: "RPG" Selections will come from Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X, Dragon Quest VIII, Phantom Brave, and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. The show will take the crowd along on a journey. Will they "beat the game", or will it be "Game Over" for our charecters. Only way to find out is to come play with us.

The Nastalgia Vanguard would like to announce their DCPI-7 show entitled: "The Block Party" Selections will include King Back by T.I., Greatdayindamornin by D'Angelo, Ms. Stress by Floetry, and De Ja Vu by Beyonce. Show will dipict the music, fun, and soul of a block party, both musically and visualy.

The Nastalgia Cadets would like to announce their DCPI-7 show entitled: "The Gridiron" Music will come from Sam Spence, great composer of the music from NFL Films. Selections include Magnificent Eleven, Ramblin' Man from Gramblin, Round Up, as well as other "familar" football tunes.

The Nastalgia Jazz show for the upcoming DCPI-7 Season will be entitled: "A Tribute to Maynard Fergueson" Tunes will be La Fiesta, Chameleon, McAuthor Park, and The Way We Were. This show is dedicated to him in the light of his recent passing. More shows to come soon.

I understand that. I just metioned Tri-State cause as of right now there isn't many in KY, IN, or OH. NMP has a KY state championship every contest. Just not in KY always.

Kentucky has the Five NMP corps. How about a Tri-State Contest with KY, IN, and Ohio.

Well the NMP camp is happy to take some awards home, especially the rookie of the Year. Of course it seems that there are not many rookies last year, still good to get recognized. Can't wait until next season. Show releases will be out soon.

We are pleased to announce that Nastalgia Jazz and Nastalgia Cadets will be joining the CLASS organization. These groups are happy to be apart of such a "Class Act" amongst the DCPI ranks, and hopes to add to the great organization.

After the success of our first season in DCPI, the Board of Directors have decided that they would like to join an organization. We know about groups like FANFARE, CLASS, and the new United Corps Society. We are intrigued and would like to know more about these groups and how to go about joining them. If we could get information about these and other groups so that we could make a descion about one soon, that would be great. Cedrick Leavell Nastalgia Music Project

Well it seems that the season is over for NMP. (I picked the wrong time to move into an apartment) Couldn't get caption changes in (due to lack of internet access), thus the corps couldn't get better. On a bright note, The Nastalgia Percussion Ens. wins Div III with no changes after prelims. I'm proud of this group as well as the other groups. It was fun competing with you all and hope to do it again real soon.

So NMP is walking around Chicago on the 5th, our day off, and I get a phone call from some DCPI execs saying that we needed to be in Rockford with our Div II and III corps. This was a shock to me being that we didn't register for this event. BUt being the team players that we are, we agree to go. Well, we have a decent show and just looked at it as a run though. The DIV I corps stayed and met us the next day in Chi town. Also, our staff thought that the last day to make changes was Aug 1st, we're pretty sure that we read somewhere that changes would stop 1 week prior to finals week and changes could be made after that if the corps advances to the next round.) So we've just been cleaning. But as we say, It's all gravy baby, See ya in Madison.

Well, the NMP camp doesn't really know what to think right about now. I think every corps has seen every part of the ranking polls this season. To have all 5 corps make finals this season would be a major accomplishment for us, and go well beyond our expectations for this, our first season in DCPI. It felt good to take away some wins near and in our hiome state. We are going to arrive in Chicago a little early and take in some sights before the show.

This Issue: The Nastalgia Percussion Ensemble THe Nastalgia Percussion Ens. came into exsistance a few years after Nastalgia and Nastalgia Cadets were involved with FDCI. The group decided to become a corps so that they would have a venue to perform in, besides WGI in the winter. By having this corps, we insure that we have a constant crop of strong percussionist feeding into the other corps. The question that everyone asks, "How do they get a brass score if it's a percussion ensemble?" Simple really, They play them. It adds another challenge to them to learn how to play brass instruements. We put spots in the show that allow them to demonstrate that skill, therefore allowing them to get credit. We usually save this part for the ballad. THe NPE is enjoying their recent sucess thus far in the season, espcially after their extremly slow start. Aftern winning the South Regional Div III championship, the corps is starting to feel at home in DCPI. Next Issue: The Nastalgia Vanguard
