  1. And, the guy was nice enough to watch Jack Sparrow (our one year old Miniature Schnauzer) while we were performing our show. He's ok in our book!
  2. Deal, Joe! Sorry Jean, you must have missed the fact that it was a "snare" sectional!!! You'll have to get a "bass" sectional going, maybe in a jacuzzi or maybe the lap pool! :)
  3. You couldn't be more right, Holly! What a great bunch of people in the Cru organization! Some random thoughts about the weekend: 1) Having SS and Cru working hard all day on the same field! 2) Marching in to retreat to a groovin' Cru drumline! You guys looked like you were having alot fun! 3) The entire Cru corps waving to us as we left the show site! 4) Yes, ladies and gents, the sauna snare sectional (fully clothed, mind you)! Justin, Keith and I thank you! 5) The sauna sectional made me realize two things, one, there are very talented drummers in Cru's line and two, I'm older than any two of their snares combined!! Uuugh! 6) This will be one of those drum corps weekends that will be remembered! Yet another thanks to Cru (and Shen Sound) for a great weekend! Look forward to seeing you guys again (you too, Bill Hoyt!)!
  4. Fortunately, we FC drummers came in for the clothed portion of the sectional, Stef! You can thank me later! :)
  5. Hey Art! Let me tell you about Joe! The minute Fusion Core walked in the Aquatic Center of George Mason University (our lodging for Saturday night's VA show) we were welcomed by not only the entire Crusader organization, but Joe, himself. He invited the snares to a sauna sectional (everyone was clothed!). We took him up on it and had a blast! Great group of young people and very talented!! Look for great things from Cru with this bunch! Peace out!
  6. Hey Matt! You forgot to thank William for the nice review as well! So, thanks, William! The reviews are appreciated! Thanks to SS too for a great show!
  7. Phew! I wouldn't want to have to account for another two years of my life, Art! :) Congrats on a successful Clifton show, X! Best of luck in the rest of the 2007 season!
  8. Wow, Tom, that's a great picture! Glad to see the corps and all its affilliates are doing so well! I wish I was there to see it! I look forward to seeing you in Rochester!
  9. 20th Century Ltd was formed in 1993, exclusively as a parade and exhibition corps. It was named after the New York Central luxury train that traveled from NYC to Chicago. The corps never had plans to compete as a commute to local competition corps such as Hurcs, Cabs, Sky, Bush, and Capitol Brass were all very close. We've had alumni from all of those corps in the ranks. We did perform exhibitions in the Alumni Classic at DCA in Allentown in 1998 and several other drum corps shows including Kingston DCI and DCA shows. Tom, you are right, there are many great people in 20th! I think I've made a couple hundred friends in my tenure there! Good luck in 2007 and Congrats on 15 years, TCL!!!! It wouldn't have happened without people like Amedeo, Pete, Lew and Raquel!!
  10. Great pics guys! Is that Eldon on trumpet? Does he spin a wheel to see what he is going to play on a particular day? :) Ok, I'm jealous as to how much talent he has!!! Keep the pics coming! BTW, love the new logo!
  11. Joe! You are always so hard on yourself!!! Get a hold of yourself, man! Congrats to Lydia, Art and the Lions Club for getting this all together. It should be a great show!
  12. You are Jimmy! Although, I think I've fed you on occasion anyway. Kudos to you and Harry Jr. for trying to put an end to these negative posts!!! But, I digress! Good luck Fusion Core!!!
  13. Why is it that Fusion Core can't have a thread without BS??? Who is this Browniechick and what 's her beef??? Get over it, people and let them move on!!! And Frank, allow me to apologize for feeding the trolls!! ~~~
  14. I think you are taking it too hard, Martybucs! Per your own categories the majority voted for G AND Bb/F. I could see if there was a G ONLY option and it was losing miserably!
  15. Congrats to the CBE on a great start! Looking forward to seeing you at DCA!
  16. A fitting tribute, indeed, to a great Skyliner and a great person! Best of luck NY!
  17. We were fortunate enough to compete with him. Him and I competed against eachother with HS bands we taught. He was always a gracious competitor no matter what side he was on. He always had a great attitude. He was a great guy! He was the consummate Skyliner. Rest in Peace, Sean! Our prayers go out to the Holton and Skyliner families. 18. 82 horns!!! Yikes!!! I've really got to make it a point to see the Bridgemen this year (and bring earplugs for the boy)!
  19. can we add marching tymps and keyboards to that? :)
  20. Holly, Ralph, Maurice, et al. Wow guys, open house was very impressive. What a hornline!! A hearty congrats is in order! Looking for great things to come from FC!
  21. Hey Amedeo! Best of luck to you and 20th in its 15th season! We look forward to seeing you guys! Let's talk soon about you know what! Time is a ticking!
  22. I agree, but only if we break out the marching glockenspiels (sp?) and those boots with the tassles for the guard! :P
  23. I'll tackle two corps as well: Excelsior hails from New York States capital region. Excelsior is on the state seal and means "higher" or "Ever Upward" which is the corps' motto! Since I was a founding staff member of the Mid Hudson Valley's 20th Century Ltd., I thought I'd offer its origins. The 20th Century Ltd was a famous luxury train that ran from NYC to Chicago (thru the Hudson Valley). The name was offered by Steve Rosenstein, a long-time train buff! BTW, thet are celebrating their 15th anniversary this year!
