  1. I just remember crying....but I congratuated Garfield as they marched back to their busses after the victory performance...one of the most difficult things I ever had to say to another person, given the circumstances. I remember the DM, Rich Armstrong, thanking me as they went by. Erron....do you still have those pics to post??
  2. Well....I can;t, but you should HEAR some of these guys!
  3. Lucky ####### ########!!! Must....gouge out...mind's...eye!!! Awright, Spanky....story time! I have a feeling I'll like these!
  4. Have you seen the drums for the Grennies?? Same kind of philosophy....and all in red....droooooolll!!
  5. *sigh*.....and that food truck was sooooo nice, too...saw it one day in Cerritos....the day of a show when I ran the running block withe the corps...
  6. I'd nevber seen a pic before...SHARP!! What was the color scheme (aside from the black, that is...I presume the head gear was silver)? And the Regiment pic...I'd forgotton that they didn;t always have teh "scrubbing bubble" helmets!
  7. Your uniforms....Fruit Stripe Gum anyone?? I don't think I've EVER seen that shade of pink on a uni...not even Star!! if I can find my photo albums I MAY have a pic of the corps...opening set, I think...but it's kinda far away...30 yard line, side 2, 'bout halfway up the lower deck. Other memories....the Garfield Cadets' tribute to Jesse Owens at the top of their show....and STILL amazed that guy made his spot before some others who actually started IN the stadium!!
  8. I think PC used them in a portion of their show last year, but held as originally designed, not mounted to another drum. I've seen some ####### amazing doumbek players when I go to belly dance fairs with my wife (who makes & sells jewelry to dancers)....some guys, I SWEAR, are playing flam drags with their #### fingers!
  9. Were they the Glassmen at this point, or were they still the Maumee Suns??
  10. Sorry...I forgot the [/sarcasm] key....
  11. Only for the last 70 years or so.... :P
  12. Now THIS one is either 81 or 82...81 was when the trim was changed from the frogs to the straight edging, but the blue edging was changed to white in 84...and this isn't 83 because that't not Jeff Voorhees on tymp.
  13. Hey Jeff....can we add 96 Nightfire to this list?? The wonder wasn't in the show....it was that we even made it to the field in the first place!!
  14. Ugh.....horrible feet on GS....almost as bad as the trousers on that dude on the sidewalk in the background...and the kid near him...YIKES!! Were Dan U& Mary Wolford in the corps in that shot?
  15. That would be the Renegades' own Rich Duarte....or Bangerb as he's known here. Another 'Gade -- Doug Peterson (Dugada) is third from the right in the middle row...standing off the left shoulder of Gino Cipriani
  16. Actually, at that event I fenced all three....team epee (we got totally wiped), individual sabre (got killed), individual foil....took 29th out of about 200 in my division. Best I've EVER finished at a major event. And sabre shouldn't hurt that much if done properly. Most beginners think you need to swing the #### thing like a baseball bat (what I call the "Hasaaaaan CHOP"), but all you really have to do is make physical contact with the lame (the solver scoring jacket I'm wearing in that pic) or the mask. 'Course, this is alo the weapon I teach....
  17. Now then...aren't you glad you didn't really quit??
  18. Heh....all I rememeber about playing at Dismalland...the Tragic Kingdom, was... Seeing Mickey with his head off...and finding an old man with a lit stoogie in his mouth... Riding the teacup ride and getting sick enough to head back to the busses to sleep it off... Being woken up by Igor..."Sam....dude, check it out!" and finding him pointing at the Hound. Suffice to say, the phrase "if the bus is rockin', don't bother knockin'" came to mind.
  19. Wow, Rob! I never knew that you'd actually quit!!! I'm thinking back to the auditions for the Latin Implosion duet, and all I can remember is that one of the final pairing was me on the top part and Bubbles of all people on the lower. Oh, how that would've totally teed him off had we gotton it, because then HE'D be the one standing behind me playing the solo (instead of Duane)...with me not only being a corps rookie, but also the guy who he disliked the most (I still remember the anguished cry of horror when he got set next to me in the first day of drill). Yeah...I remember the "BD in 4th place" bit...we were in Denver, I believe. Oh yeah....Modesto....the first show where we played the famous New York Fantasy tag...I rememeber teh crowd going absolutely ape #### when we hit it, since we;d BEEN replaying the end of the opener. Can't wait to read more...
  20. Yeah....but it got back on the tracks quick enough!
  21. He finished the season, tho...85 also (unless it was in 85 you were referring to) BWHAAA!!! SOOOO true!!! I NEVER Knew Lisa's nick was Bat Mite!!! Ahhh....forgot about Ray 'K...I know Zipperhead was Gary...but Dunt Dunt wasn't Brent, was he??
