" im pretty sure my corps is better than your corps" that is the most ######## thing I have ever read on here EVER 05 rocked 06 sucked 07 rocked 08 sucked now the cadets are returning to what they should be so relax give em a break. you want to attack someone for being gimmicky? try cavies 00-08? and bd? how many times can they bang on field toms? or have guard members hold tenor drums. Or horns become swords ?!?!?! come on dude....

this was my first cinecast. I have gone to both classic countdowns and the audio was horrible off to one side and not loud enough. this time it was in 5.1 clearly and loud enough for me. EXCEPT SCV which all I heard was pit.. I was furious. I thought everyone did a great job. as far as placements I think things are where they should be. I took a non drum corps person with me and she loved it.. until the cavaliers came on... she started freaking out when she noticed no girls were there. she started freaking out about it and comparing it to sexism. almost ruined the night for me. I dont really care for the cavaliers.. their hornline just never gets loud and just doesnt do it for me. but I still respect them as a corp. and I do feel they deserve where they are at right now. I was in houston texas.. basically home of the cavaliers. and it was funny.... during cadets no applause except for stick toss.. and at the end.. silence... the ENTIRE theatre sat on their hands. I couldnt believe it.. I must have been the only cadet there but I didnt care.. I knew that at other theatres they were going nuts. so I went nuts. but when the cavaliers came on. I thought I was in a hs pep rally. it was rediculous. all in all a good night.. I wish I was in madison to cheer on my brother. DM for SCV. he is my hero. thanks to everyone this season who has had good things to say and helped me get a read of whats going on this season. thanks again

I was under the impression that no one liked the show in 04 :D I marched it and I didnt like parts of it. do cadets have a shot? yes? but so do 5 other corps IMHO FWIW OMFG haha you guys and youre abbreviations. Gino's trumpets... its not harsh.. its top heavy... he's a high brass guy.. he plays trumpet.. listen to cadets 2000 the trumpets over hyped finals night. cadets 05 was more controlled. but they did win brass in 05 and 00. I have something to say about brass though... does anyone else hate how cavies never have impacts? their hornline IMHO has not been loud since 2000. I can back that up because ive been on tour side by side with these guys since 99 and I certainly am biased. but as a music major I def can say that their hornline has no balls. cadets, BD, phantom, even BC have balls. I enjoy their impacts... I wonder if im the only guy left who likes great sounding loud balanced hornlines...

sigh... you guys never learn... you cant compare scores from other shows. sure its fine to make up rankings based on scores.. but the truth is it doesnt matter. because this will be the FIRST time everyone has seen each other... last time at indy cadets got 3rd.... cadets have issues right now. we all know what they can do in the last 3 weeks.. just see what happens saturday.... im guessing the top5 will be very close....

this is on topic but just go with me..... in 2001 cascades beat pioneer and took 17th place. (as a div II corp competing in open at quarters ) this knocked them out of semi's. after quarters we were changing on the bus and a few pioneer members started hitting our bus windows with their sticks. they were upset that a div 2 corps beat them out of semi's like it was something personal. so no I dont really feel bad for pioneer. I admit everyone in drum corps works hard. but when stuff like that happens I dont really care if they get 1st or last.. have some class. I have many more examples and im sure you all have stories too but this on topic of scores and placement. the following year in 2002 cascades made finals. BK took 13th. after semi's we played imagine our corps song in the lot. then on the way back to the buses a BK member assaulted me from behind while I was IN UNIFORM. luckily we were all in uniform so we did nothing.. but wow... the class.. and the balls to do something like that... so forget scores I say go for spirit of disney. im someone that marched last place in div 3 all the way to 1st in div 1. and I can tell you the summer I will always remember is 2002. 12th place. felt like 1st.

again I agree 110% HOWEVER :D there is cadet bashing. and there is also amp bashing. and then there is bashing stating that cadets make others use amps to stay competitive.... its just silly. how many div 1 corps use amps to mic the pit.. almost all of them... is anyone making them? no I dont feel the need to defend The Cadets. I do feel the need to defend the way things are going. the point has been made. if corps dont change we would still be playing on no valved bugles and doing symetrical drill with marching timpani's. people will always fear change. in 2009 I will be a rep for yamaha selling amps to bands corps and whoever else. there will be jet packs with 3d drill and marching string sections. :lolhit:

you are 100% correct. HOWEVER; dont you think its silly to have threads everyday about the same thing? its not about converts. I dont think we are trying to change how people feel. really it just comes down to realizing whats important. DCI is growing. if you dont like it no one makes you watch cadets. if they like to make jokes about sending the audience to get a hot dog. then go get one. dont sit through a show you "hate" and then come home and cry about it online. BTW im not really saying this to you im saying it to the general bashing public. I <3 everyone and wish this forum could be used for fans helping fans and making friends. if you guys want to fight we should like meet in the parking lot before the show. go watch some hornlines and drum lines yell at each other in front of the members and then skip the show and have a beer right? :D

I wish I could quote alot of you but I really dont have the time. This is a general public service announcement to all the people who have a problem with amps, vocals, and the cadets 2006 You are entitled to your opinion yes. You are entitled to share that opinion. YES. but really if you claim to support the cadets but just not like this years show then you really dont have any idea of what the cadets are all about. I dont like every cadets show.. in fact I dont even like the show I marched. but would I have marched anywhere else that year? no. Are you guys really going to spend all summer whinning and crying about amps, vocals, and other small things? I wish you could all wear tshirts with your screen name on it at finals or the SA show So I can walk up to you and see what kind of person you are. have you seen jay and silent bob? at the end they take revenge on all the people that bashed them on the internet. turns out they are all like little kids. if not actual little kids they act like little kids. I understand that some of you guys are old 70's drum corps guys... fine enjoy yourself.. go to DCA shows and get stuck in the 70's. DIV 1 will continue to use amps and vocals and there is nothing you can do about it. I cant believe no one has brought up star 93. In the season everyone hated them. the movement.. the 10 minute ballad... people say the show was 10 years ahead of its time. I wish there was internet forums in 93. I dont know if cadets should have won.. I think it should have been a tie. but the coolest moment in DCI was after finals in 93. Cadets let star play an encore even though they got 2nd. this was the last time star played on a football field and it was after scores. the cadets stood in front of them and watched. you can just see the respect and class by everyone. I have a video clip of it. message me if you want to see it... now it can be argued that star 93 is one of the best drum corps shows ever. is cadets 2006 the best ever? probably not.. but look at how much press its getting. for anyone in the real world we know that any press is good press. even when you guys bash the show youre just giving them what they want.. to get to you.. to break new ground.. good or bad they are trying something new. I wasnt on the forums in 04 I was too busy marching.. but did you guys freak out about crowns vocals? that guy who talked about "the BEAT" "BEATTASTIC" and other weird random crap. I thought that definately took away from the show. but was crown 2004 awesome with bohemia? YES. was BD 2005 clean? YES I hated the YOWZA but I respect BD. I havent seen the cadets yet this year. But I know they will be amazing... a gino hornline, drums that throw down. and drill that makes sense.. the cadets are consistent performers. I cant wait to see what they do in these next 3 weeks. im not trying to get you guys to stop posting... just sit.... take a deep breath and really ask yourself if your posting really does any good. you guys just whine. and misery loves company... its like anything... people always have excuses, and complaints. before this turns into a hoppy talk I just want you to realize that you accomplish nothing when you whine and complain.. its just makes you look silly :angel: PS instead of crying about cadets can we get some BD, cavies, bluecoats, and phantom discussion? I cant find anything in here about the cool stuff going on in those shows...

I Dont think you guys understand.... you get so wrapped up in scores and who went up and who went down. anyone who has marched will tell you... you cant compare corps scores from other shows.. it just doesnt work like that.. also.. if anyones score goes down does that mean they were worse than the previous night? no. it just means different judges different numbers... now if it was the same judges.. then that might say something... but it really doesnt mean anything who went up or down, or when BD gets a 90 and cadets are at 85.. .. just watch what happens this saturday.. it will be very awesome to have a competitive top 6 again...

I agree... I came here in 03 as a "guest" and there were alot of awesome reviews. before season pass this gave us fans who cant make it out to shows a good idea of what corps are doing. it seems like all people do on here is whine and biquer over ######## things. for those of you who go to the shows... please post reviews it would really help us that cant make it out to shows. for all the people that whine and complain about things. if things didnt change we would still be playing g bugles and doing symetrical drill. enjoy the shows and support the members.
