  1. woot-woot! Good luck Red Team! Take "The Field of Dreams"
  2. I think it's fair to mention "The Colts" are kicking it in Visual. Way to go, I'm pretty proud.
  3. Let me get this straight. Are you implying “Sully” "the huge staff member" let's not play games, was the problem or so you heard? Do your sources think he’s “Over-the-Hill”, “A-Has-Been” or “Washed Up”, what are they saying? I’ve read all over the place that B.K.’s 2012 show was one of their favorites in quite some time but I may be wrong. Do you really know why there was a parting of the ways with some of the B.K. Staff members this year or are you just speculating? Some of the staff members left yet all them are employed by one corps or another. My son who had been with B.K. for 14-years, went with Sully to “The Colts” as did some other staff members. I really want to know what your sources are saying about Sully because he is a brilliant man and has so much more to produce; he is and has been and a wonderful mentor to my son and he is my friend! For the record, having both my kid’s perform and be on the staff of B.K. and having been a member of the B.K. family for 14 year I am and always will be one of their biggest fans. What I dream of is B.K. compete like the Blue Coats and Carolina Crown have; they are the quintessential examples for all corps that going to the top can and has been done!
  4. FYWW is the collective name for the San Francisco Giants relief pitchers. These arms are so filthy that in a game in which the Giants hold a slim lead, bringing any of these pitchers into the game is the manager's way of saying to the opposition "**** You, We win" (which they eventually will do) Sorry, I see the question was answered. I lost all computer connection during the Cavies show and am desperately trying to catch up...Talk about cussing, throwing things, and tears. Wasn't it determined the person who wrote that was a troll?
  5. We had some fun for sure. It was a much quieter time. I made a post in 2002 on Sound Machine that I go back and read now and again that still tears me up. Craig was aging out 2002 B.D. and 2 weeks before finals his dog passed. I remember asking if I should tell him or not. You all were great; so very helpful . I did tell him and on age out night he left "Harley's" dog tag on the field in Madison; he had it in his glove at each of the finals performances. Yep, I'm still tearing up now.
  6. When it's all said and done "Drum Corps" is really family. Those kids out there performing their hearts out, the staffs working with little pay and all of us sitting here as a group watching and enjoying this event. We may get snappy at each other but it really is Drum Corps blood that runs through our veins. Enough kumbaya, back to the competition!
  7. What a beautiful interview with their Drum Major; that made me tear up. Twelve years with The Colts, wow!
  8. Do you watch H or S? I'm never sure which way to go.
  9. Great show, I like the "House of the Rising Sun". Brought fond memories of BD-2002, when they did their hair dance to this song.
  10. I missed it; will back up. I love "Wicked" my daughter and I have seen it 4 times now, including its showing on Broadway! I guess I have a thing for the misunderstood underdog!
  11. The Colts didn't do so well on their slot. But, Good Luck, Red Team, Giddy-Up and get on that "Field of Dreams"! :cheer:/> I'm happy to see the Blue Knights placement is better this year; last year was brutal they couldn't get a good slot anywhere!
  12. DCImonkey, I love your signature! Isn't that the truth; 11 years on here and how many years on Sound Machine and before that RAMD? At least we have Fan Network, it sure helps. :offtopic:/>/> Let the slotting discussion begin again this year.
  13. Thank you, I didn't mean to sound rude, I promise. I just think they're a little left out and some of us like to hear about them too. :wink:/> That goes for all corps actually; we sit here glued to our computers every show, there was a large crowd on here last night, waiting for any news we can get. We are fans, some of us have family (I do) and friends out there too. Again, I'm sorry if I stepped over the line.
  14. I mentioned this in another thread but it's as if the Colts are invisible to some. Last night it was all about the Troopers getting to Spirit; Crossmen may pass the Troopers and be head-to-head with Spirit; Pacific Crest moving up so fast, WHOA, wait a minute, the Colts were there too! The Troopers were only 1.5 ahead of The Colts last night and The Trooper's are sitting at 1.75 behind Spirit. The Colts are on The Troopers tail and so it seems The Colts are closer to catching The Trooper's than The Troopers are to catching Spirit but no one seems or wants to pay attention to that. The Crossmen are a mere .85 ahead of The Colts, yet the talk is how they'll also catch Spirit, is it unconceivable The Colts may pass The Crossmen in the future? Pacific Crest came in at 2.25 below The Colts last night but not a word was mentioned about that and in fact, The Colts weren't mentioned at all in the competition last night, it's like they're invisible. I think The Colts are holding their own and for some reason they are being over looked, their visual has been consistently competitive. I wouldn't throw them out of this competition; although they go on at a pretty lousy time in San Antonio, that will hurt them but it's not over. I wish them the best but I sure wish people would not act as if they're not there and in this competition, because they're definitely there. Giddy-Up Red Team! Show them "The Field of Dreams"
  15. Did you see the Colts, or were they the invisible corps that went on after Pacific Crest and scored a full 2.5 above them?
  16. It seems to me the Colts are being left out of the equation here: The Troopers were only 1.5 ahead of The Colts Crossmen just .85 ahead of the Colts Pacific Crest – 2.25 behind the Colts I think the Colts are holding their own and for some reason they are being over looked... I wouldn't throw them out just yet; although they go on at a pretty lousy time in San Antonio, that will hurt them but it's not over!
  17. Performance order does definitely make a difference. The Colts really had bad luck of the draw for San Antonio, I hope they can hold their score but I'm a bit worried.
  18. Yes, he's the Program Coordinator & Visual Designer
  19. Visual is rockin' it for the Colts this year.
  20. Great job, way to go "Colts"! Scores, geez, who knows anymore, I hope the kids are having a great time this summer, I hope this crazy heat wave lets up. You have to love Drum Corps!
  21. Giddy up, Colts. "The Field of Dreams" awaits you. Wishing everyone a great show. We get Olathe corn and it is so good. Yum!
  22. I don't think there is a conspiracy, I think there is getting a corps to prove itself on the field enabling their recruiting to span out. You're absolutely correct about BAC they turned it around and have been a force to be reckoned since '99. The Blue Knights placed 6th in 2000 but didn't even make finals in 2001, they reorganized. Carolina Crown, wow, they came into Division 1 and showed everyone they meant business and have gone straight to the top. I like to think of them as one of the best examples of what a corps can do with the right staff, organization and recruitment. I have nothing but respect for Carolina Crown and the progress they've made and I think they are a great example of how a corps can move up the corps chain. After reading my last couple of posts I realize I have gone into a drum corps coma and am babbling, sorry.
  23. The kids are ready to make it. The new staff consisting of Marc Sylvester, a "Hall of Fame Member" joined the Colts this year as their Drill Writer/Program Coordinator, he brought with him some very talented staff members. I think the Colts have tremendous potential and are ready to get on it. I'm not sure what happened tonight but I'm as shocked as many others on here. They've been consistently scoring high in Visual, I'm at a loss about the scores tonight. I can only imagine how both the kids and the staff must feel right now. As far as keeping corps in their place, I don't have solid answers but I do question it. Colts have been holding their own and as I questioned in another thread, "Why were some corps fans so offended when the Colts were scoring that high and coming close to them"? They called foul even though they hadn't even seen the Colts show; it's kind of sad really because the recaps, up until tonight, showed them rising with the rest. I'm hoping for a bounce back but I'm sure a lot of people have to pick themselves up first, it was kind of like a sucker punch.
