  1. Enter me by email. I just want the tickets. I LIVE near boston and I cant get tickets to save my life.
  2. Oh man. I am a huge peirogie fan. Ill probably hit that up!
  3. I'll be down there. This is my first time, since I couldnt march this year. Anybody want to share some places of interest for the weekend, good restaurants to hit, etc?
  4. tadaaa. Told you I've been following SCV more than any other corps. I'll be yelling from home!
  5. Cadets did get 6th in drums OUCH 17.5... Man, the spread burned them too. After madison being a tenth away the next closest is almost a full point with bluecoats halfway into 18. Everyones ready to penetrate 19 and Cadets are sitting back in 17land. THAT sucks.
  6. I used to have the judging criteria. I didnt keep any of the GE stuff though, I mostly kept the performance criteria. This is also why I have always felt that GE judging was more design based, and if the design and intent is being communicated in the way that it is meant to be maybe?
  7. Exactly why elitism is pointless. We should just enjoy the activity.
  8. My friends and I discuss this from time to time. I think that it will be robot based. Where you can program your drill coordinates into a robot that will move you around. Or maybe something like MECHWARRIORS!
  9. Gotta love the internet! No emotion. I didnt mean to sound like I was reaming you.
  10. Vanguard is IMO the highest standard of excellence standing across the history of DCI. Being the only corps to attain top 12 every single year of DCI's history, and never dropping lower than 8th, which just so happened to be last year. They just need to learn not to attempt repeating old Vanguard classics, they lead to thier poorest placements (92, 05) Vanguard is a tradition. THE Tradition. But thats just out of the mouth of a huge SCV fan so... :P This reminds me... I've been wondering how I get into the SCV Appreciation Society. Vanguard is the group I follow the most every single year.
  11. Well considering he's blessed with such a talent, he probably enjoys the fact that it never ends. I wouldnt want something I love to do ever to end. I'm jealous. He's a LUCKY guy for being so good at what he does.
  12. This is excellent stuff... most of the practical ones are better than alot of the uniform redesigns that are out there now IMO. LOVED the star uniform. I'd actually like to see what you can do with some division II/III stuff. Out of curiosity. But you dont have to.
  13. As far as my experience, it's never even been brought up really. The only focus is playing and marching. Thats what we paid to do all summer, and that's exactly what we did. The best thing is to be prepared for the worst: where your corps will have no accomodations to your religion, and you will have to do it on YOUR time. If thats what you expect, and then you find that they do accomodate, then its bonus points for you.
  14. Exactly, I happen to remember Surfers wearing beach shorts, shortsleve shirts, visors, and even those water shoes instead of marching shoes. The next year they were on to Elvis suits, wigs and glasses with a big wheel on the drum major podium. And now look, they are back to a standard uniform. The point is that nobody claimed the Surfers were ruining drum corps, or any other of the ridiculous claims. Maybe some groups just like to expiriment, and if you dont like it... then just DONT LIKE IT. The point carries over to the Cadets this year. Dont s*** yourself and predict the apocalypse of drum corps ending as we know it just because you dont dig a show.
  15. I am plesantly surprised to see how well the Northeastern Divison III corps are doing. Citations, Targets, and 7th, just to name a few. Citations have come a long way. Its good to see some of the product that has been coming up over the years and how the programs have been growing. As long as the kids have the desire to learn and to excel... 'let them eat cake'
  16. Would it be too expensive?: Who knows Granted they did just get new uniforms for the whole corps. But I think that a more important concern is cleaning the excecution of the show at this point, not redesigning the guard uniform. Will this change of uniform bolster them an extra couple points? No. I think the better question is, "Is it completely pointless to get new guard uniforms later than July 27th?" Absolutely. There's always Pasadena.
