  1. I think you might be right, Dick. It sure looks like a single valve to me. At first I thought it might be a french horn but I don't think Sky Alumni uses them.
  2. Guess Who these two are... # 309 ? The guy on the right with the beard might enjoy a *fig* sometimes.
  3. Ok. I got nuthin' Guess I'm full of stupidity today.
  4. I was actually referring to the day of the show and not the party. We hung out all day and never saw you. It was hot though so maybe you were inside all day. I guess it was a stupid statement. As for the featured corps, I thought it was named already. It was the Czech or Polish name that began with a C?
  5. I never saw you either, Tony, except when I was on stage. I hope you enjoyed our show.
  6. I remember the beer and the ads well. And, there probably was a beer connection between the corps. We are probably about the same age and I was a kid too. Mom and Dad drank Carlings Black Label. Yuck!
  7. John, I don't know if the Archie-Ballantine thing was a rivalry but I do remember the uniforms. Now, Archie & Reilly was a rivalry but that's a discussion for another time! Actually the Sky uniform that I meant was the classic 60s & 70s uni. It has remained pretty much true to form over the years though, like Cabs. ( A couple of years in the early 2000s Sky tried to change their look ). I'm kind of partial to cadet style uniforms. I think they look very "neat".
  8. I knew there was an Archie-Ballantine connection somewhere. <laugh>
  9. I seem to recall hearing that somewhere, Andy. Ballantine had those odd shaped shakos too. I believe their uni design was similar to one that Archer Epler had before the maternity blouses. Too bad Ballantine didn't last longer.
  10. "Would I lie to You?" by the Eurythmics. Some nice brass parts. Song has a bit of everything.
  11. Tony, I doubt if you remember but you introduced the "featured gentleman" to me at Harrisburg. And, btw, he was very nice to me! Most people dismiss you immediately (who in the heck are you?)but this gentleman did not. I already know Rabbit.
  12. Did a morning parade for a small town anniversay (forget which anniversary) and the parade officials wanted us to play our show afterwards. The parade ended at a fire hall and they wanted us to wait until say, 1PM and then play our show. Well, we waited, set up in a parking lot with cars and played the show, to NO ONE. No audience at all. They all stayed in the fire hall and drank beer I suppose. We got paid and then joined them to drink beer. Another time we were hired to play some sort of celebration at a hotel and when we arrived to play, we discovered that the guest of honor had died either that day or the day before. Either someone forgot to inform us, whatever, but they decided to change the celebration to a memorial and we played 2 songs and left.
  13. You are on a roll!! I think we need to 'reel' you in!
  14. Guess Who # 302? 1. horn guy Or, is he a horn guy of Italian descent celebrating the Feast of the 7 Fish? I'll bet he has some fish stories!
  15. A Rickenbacker bass if I recall. I remember it well.
  16. 1. Allentown's J. Birney Crum 2. Cumberland, Md. 3. Chambersburg, Pa.
