  1. I believe you have mentioned on here that you are a retired teacher.
  2. Must be the teacher in you. I was thinking of that clue too. His last name is shared by a famous actress who uttered the great line in All About Eve: "Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night".
  3. I think you are. This person played beautifully but is not a screamer.
  4. Guess Who # 298 ? We don' need no steenkin' microphone That could be Archer Epler's post, not sure. This gentleman used to enter the Individuals at GAS every year and his first and last name begin with the same letter. He usually ended up going home with a lot of awards.
  5. Guess Who the 2 closest to the camera are # 296 ? Yes, it is "bad news" me and Gerry Montemuro, Blessed Sacrament's Assistant Director at the time. The other guys in the photo are left to right: Charlie Vayda, Tommy Walsh, Donald "Rocky" Glen, Bob Jacobsen , and Tony Ross. We were lining up for the morning concert at the Jolly Roger in Wildwood for the Elks, circa 1995. (edited: had Rocky & Bob out of order)
  6. Nice to have you back, Puppet. Take good care of yourself.
  7. And here I thought I would get a couple of creative clues. <sigh> I don't think he's wearing Foster Grants but the name of the gentleman laughing with me rhymes with the fruit that goes on top of a sundae. There I go with the food references again. LOL
  8. I'm with you. I play a 2 valve King K-20 G soprano.
  9. Guess Who wears their namebadges # 294 ? Yes! Kenny Norman in the blue shirt. Now, the other guy (in the green shirt) is also a horn guy and he claims that chicks dig him. Often seen wearing bright colored chef pants - almost always wearing a smile! Just in the "nick" of time...............His last name reminds me of a fast food chicken chain.
  10. Thanks for the pix, Sayre. I am so short that I am completely hidden by the cymbal player closest to the front.
  11. Thank you, Sayre. I was very proud of the corps in both parades. I did see you guys on the flatbed in Dundalk and what we heard sounded good for the amount of people. I just loved seeing the Skyliners back in any capacity. You are so right about the Dundalk parade. The route makes no sense and the stops were exhausting. Our DM told us that they (?) were making people stop and play at the reviewing stand. WTF? Anyway, we didn't stop and marched right on through like you should. I remember at one point, we were stopped for 15 minutes. It would have been nice if the locals would have offered us water or beer. I felt bad for the other corps that had to get to another parade after marching in this bad b##ch. On the other hand, I really like the Havre de Grace parade. Straight shot, lots of trees and people and 13 short blocks!
  12. Yeah! We did a parade and concert in Lewisburg the week before and there were road apples all along the parade route and in MY line of march, of course!
  13. Hey Jim. The only drum corps you didn't mention was Yankee Rebels and seeing me. We were dead last at Dundalk but you did see me when you started out. You didn't hear me at Havre de Grace perhaps because you were playing, but I did yell for ya and the corps sounded good. I must say that Dundalk parade was horrible. I thought we would never finish it because of the interminable stops and we never played an entire tune while moving. And, we waited around for 3 1/2 hours to step off and the locals at the start of the parade were not very friendly. Crowd along the way was very receptive though and the corps sounded good. It was good to see Dick Pomerleau of Shenandoah Sound. At Havre de Grace on Sunday, we were unit 17 and we finished at 2:30 so we watched some of the parade. Rebels sounded great in this parade possibly because we didn't have to wait around for 3 1/2 hours like the day before. I liked that Teal Sound wore uniforms. The only corps I heard play going by was The Hanover Lancers and they sounded full and good. Like an Alumni corps should. It was good to hang out with Fran and Barbara Haring at our after parade get-together at the American Legion with our friends from Archer Epler. BTW, our DM and Director, Phil Gentile, has been getting that "stand up" routine forever!
  14. Does he share his first name as well as his initials with a certain PA announcer?
  15. I'm a little late but Happy Anniversary, Tony & Donna. I love your "teenage" wedding story!!
  16. Fran, I think that one steps off aroung 2:00.
  17. Happy Birthday, John!! Looks like you should have a beautiful day.
  18. Yankee Rebels: July 4, Dundalk, Md. July 5, Havre De Grace, Md. Jim, I should see you on both days!
  19. Guess Who # 292 ? He does look a bit like Marv Albert like John said! I think this person is from a state in New England and then followed the "sun"?
