They're just local bums picked up off the street and given part time jobs while the corps is in town....kind of like carnies!

Rematch between BK and Gmen should be interesting too.

My son tried out for Bluecoats in 06 but was cut (they had a very good year), last year tried out for Blue Stars and had a spot but dropped to concentrate on school and this year he's with Glassmen. To him it's a perfect fit with the right mix of drum corps and personalites. I would suggest like everyone else so far to try out a corps and find one you fill comfortable with and let the rest take care of its self.

And DCIguy01 has been doing a great job with these "standings" as well. And yeah it is just for fun. "and we'll have fun, fun, fun til her daddy takes the standings awayyyyyy...." LOL.

Thanks for the nice words. I'm sure the Gmen appreciate the work is paying off. And hell yeah for the Blue Stars being back in the top 12. I would think that it's not so much of a come back from last season as much as a continuation of great work and improvement each year to get to where they are now! Gmen and Stars have been playing tag most of the season with Lacrosse coming out on top but still close. Great job to Stars!!!

You never know. But they're only half a tenth of a point apart! Anything can happen now. Heck the wind could change from north to south and make up that spread!

Cool. I understand your point. But these standings are similiar to NASCAR in a way, as the same drivers don't always compete at the same race but still rack up points in the overall standings for the year. Right?

Your right. And I think we all understand that these are only temporary standings and not even head to head in most case. But it's still an indication of movement in any case. And if the only thing we can get "excited" about is DCI finals week then why even bother with having contest all summer? As old and senile as I am, even I undestand that my favorite corps might be up today and down tomorrow but it's still cool to keep track of where they are from show to show. That's what they "mean" to most people. That's all.

Hey Rudi...went up in score is an understatement. When other corps have done that "oh my god THEY'RE ON THE MOVE"...but when Gmen do it ...ok so what? I'm old school and if Madison, Blue Stars and Boston can be back in the top 6 at DCI at the same time I'll die a happy man. And that's not even talking about making finals all at the same time. (maybe that's backward?) That's icing on the cake. I just hope that eveyone is starting to understand that the Glassmen are not chopped liver this year. If they don't like the show that's fine. But god help anyone that says it sucks....lol! I'm a former Marine and I do carry a GRUDGE!!! LOL! Good luck to ALL the corps as this might be one of the best DCI (prelims and finals) EVER!

Right On. Troopers are making a move but seem to be caught in a headwind. Even with a smaller guard then the rest of the pack the show is not getting the credit I think most people think they should be getting. Including me. As far as Gmen not getting any love...I know I've been giving credit and support to Xmen, Madison, Colts all season and it seems that what we keep getting back is "Gmen falling out of finals", "Can Glassmen hold on to a top 12 spot?", "the show design sucks" etc. But maybe now that they're tied with Boston for 10th (at least for today) those type of comments will start to fall by the wayside. Let the scores speak for themselves and we'll see what happens at Allentown.

I don't certainly don't see anything rough about Blues year so far. Not only that but the show seems to be getting more refined as they go. Just because they haven't exceeded someone elses expectations doesn't mean they haven't met their's. And it still ain't over yet either.

AALLL Righty now! The latest DCI Standings according to DCIguy has the GMEN tied with Boston for 10th place. Less than .5 from Stars as well. And within shooting range of BK! Now we all know that everyting could and most likely will change again tonight. But where are all those Glassmen will fall out of finals comments now???? Good job to all the corps as they improve each show as well. It's going to be REAL interesting at semi-finals!

My son just called and said they marched "THE" show tonight and everything locked in. They're real happy with it. I hope everyone can say that tonight. We're getting close to finals. No scores yet.

I've marched a couple of DCA's that have been dumped on but don't remember any DCI shows being called or such.

Sorry to hear that. Not good to lose anybody. And as far as Sarnia I marched that show with Lancers. I loved the White Tornados and the guard in those white shorts. Tool Cool. Just like Blue Stars. But cuter.
