  1. there's a Grenadier Facebook page

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/Grennies/

drop in and see some of the old timers

  2. Several venues come to mind.. penn state, cornell, giants stadium, but none as well suited as Allentown. I have fond memories of Allentown from 1976 to last year performing with the Bridgemen. It's an awesome place. NO it's not the Taj Mahal. It is a great venue for what it is. I wouldhope that someone some way would be able to come up with the funds to renovate the upper stands and make that plave be what it could be.
  3. list... ticks..guesses mylar..kevlar contra..tuba knew everyone..don't know everyone park and bark..outdoor orchestra out of tune..in tune drum solo..drum feature marching pit..standing pit school buses..coaches aio,us open, world open, dci east..dci east ny-penn circuit..no circuits tons of ny jr. corps...none pbs 2 hours unedited..espn 2 2 hours all commercials big ole boom box with 24 d batteries and 12 cassettes..ipods vcr..dvd long rolls..cheese "on this note stand here"..121 pages of drill dci max 2 years anywhere..10 years in indy My biggest difference????... I knew every note of every corps i used to march along side and those in DCI. Today as awesome as it is... I can't hum a lick from any of them.. too bad we can't find a happy medium for some of the old school stuff to be around while the new stuff blends in.
  4. Cadets most entertaining imho was 1981...I digress Most entertaining?... wow... Sure "anything you can do I can do better" is entertaining... for all 1 minute of it... however... the antics of the B-men in 80-81... the sheer awesomeness of bd in 1976. scv 1973... madison 75... NorthStar 78.. 27th 81 note the commonality... the crowd would give ovations throughout the show... not "hold their applause till the the show is over"... don't wanna offend just makin observations
  5. gee... isn't doobie from indy?>...hmmmmm
  6. I voted for Mark Twain as well.... 1976 Finlandia, 2001 space odessy, Black Water, Camptown, gift of song. Thanks Keith..

  8. Maybe we could paint their dots on the fieds as well....
  9. I am certainly gonna let her know. Again all the best to all of our performers. I hope to see you all on the Sunday of the show as I get to put on the Yellow coat.
  10. I agree but I would like you to think about going back to 79. I've listened to the progression of music from 79-82 and one can see the transformations of the Garfield sound to Rocky Point. The sound quality, phrasings, styles, tempos. I mean look at Adventures in time. How ground breaking was that? The driving tempo certainly was a good start to what the Cadets have become. I still love Pieces of Dreams tho. I wish somehow they would do a throwback to that at the end of one of their shows in the future.
  11. Regina, I certainly meant no disrespect. Joey is one awesome player. I know Jeff marched and I know the other's marched. My wife has been to many of the Sounds on the Susquehanna shows. Every year she askes me why Joey doesn't march. (The reason she knows his name is because David announced it at a show here the year you all won here.(the JOey's late again gag)) I told her it's part of the Statesmen Style. She said but what about all those others who work their butt off to learn drill and he doesn't... don't they get jealous? I said... no It's part of the deal. She just asked me if I write something please say to have Joey march. That's all. I like Joe and thinks he's certainly a huge asset to the corps. I wish you luck at DCA. And if you see Joey .. tell him the announcer in Binghamton says, "Nice job".
