Since there are only 14 guards in SW right now what will WGI do? It's not as if they can pull up from SO since there are only 32 groups in that class. Will the A guards still have to travel to Cinci so a class with 14 groups can have the LARGE venue? I am very curious to see what they will do!

Totally sucks for the Open and A classes. Another crap decision by WGI for these groups. I agree, will be an issue now taking an extra hour into travel time and a smaller audience. It was SO nice buzzing around from prelim site to prelim site in Dayton. There will not be any buzzing on down to catch a guard 45 minutes away. <sigh> Really sucks from travel, budget (extra gas), time and convenience factor.

I Love how the East region does NOT get an "elite" event. It is just so clear who WGI supports in this country it's ridiculous. The USSBA circuit is looking BETTER AND BETTER every day.

What a joke to have only three competing corps. I am not going to waste my money and I wonder if the turnout will be smaller this year. May as well wait until next week in Hornell where you can get much more for the money!

WOW, I didn’t realize that happened to Express from Jamestown. Clearly there was an issue with the numbers some judges decided to give out in finals. Take a look at the recap and compare the numbers between prelims and finals and you will see why it happened. As nice as the "idea" of having a regional back in upstate NY was, it certainly was terrible what happened to some of the area groups. I say let the regional go someplace else especially after what happened to the host. Wouldn’t it be nice to have another governing organization that is not WGI? USSBA expand....get on that!

It is pretty simple to me that the higher ups at WGI don’t care what happens to some of the groups. Given Gates Chili's History within the activity I am sure they were not an embarrassment in the class. Not to mention that they were PROMOTED BY WGI into the class and at the first national event they get kicked in the face. How heartbreaking for the members, parents, staff and school administrators to have that happen at their own regional. I wouldn’t be surprised if the school district would never host a regional in that facility again. Not to take away from Sonnor or Lake Erie who didn’t get to perform in finals. It is crappy for them as well. Best of luck to all three non qualifiers for the rest of the season. And some wonder why the membership is declining in WGI...... hmm......

Any idea when WGI will officially announce the promotions for next season? I know they put into effect all the SA finalists, top 10 IA, top 5 SO and top 5 IO for last year and this year but I'm sure they will move a few more? Any thoughts?

Wasnt too fond of the statemen guard either. Bad costumes, short flags and bad color choices hang over them.

I know the WGI advisory board approved the proposal for the promotions but did anyone outside of the proposal get promoted? Usually they post something on the web site congratulating all the groups but I haven’t seen anything yet!

They are up on the WGI web site. As far as promotions look at the result of proposal # 12! Does that go into effect for this past season i wonder??????????????.

Any word on who is getting promoted for next season? Any guesses?

I agree that things could shake up a bit this weekend! I also thought the Trumbull scores were a bit high so I'm very interested in seeing where Alter Ego and some of the Scholastic Open numbers fall. Adding some other groups in to the mix should prove to be a very exciting regional in those classes!! Alter Ego and Ventures should top out IO. West Johnston, South Brunswick and Gates Chili are my thoughts for SO. Gonna be great! Can't wait to see the results!

Does anyone know of the companies that do the digital printing of floors? I have tried Infinite Graphics but it appears they no longer exist. Help would be appreciated

How was open class judging bizzare? Was it scholastic or independent you are talking about?

I am glad the New England area has the South Brunswick Power Regional. The only thing I hope is that it is NOT at South Brunswick High school. If it is I would feel cheated out of the "power" regional experience due to the gymnasium size. It is a great venue for a regular regional but it lacks the arena feel most power regionals have. I am anxiously awaiting the announcement of the location! Pittsburg is exciting, it’s nice to have a regional back in Pennsylvania. I anxiously await the announcement of that location as well!

I wanted to know peoples thoughts on the WGI promotion system. After WGI promotes a unit do you think they are successful in their new class? Success is measured in different ways but how many achieve finalist status that next year? If they don’t does that mean it didn’t work or did it based on other things?? Examples anyone?
