  1. It's clear that many people didn't get that memo. Cadets have to continually prove themselves to people who seemingly disregard THAT fact.
  2. For those with questions. I'm 100% sure they're pretty receptive.
  3. Thanks for your input. Those are the points I feel are most important.
  4. Well, according to their alumni social media pages, they're doing a pretty good job of reaching out to Alumni so there are many people who are quite happy with them as of late. The new staff there is doing everything in their power to rectify the "self inflicted wounds" that were caused before many of them were even there. As I implied earlier. Everyone cannot be pleased if they don't want to be pleased. If some people refuse to acknowledge the hardships the organization was in, and the staff there now have been trying to fix, then I don't think that's a Cadets problem. They're doing the best they can with what they have, with what's going on with the current times, and given the state of DCI as a whole.
  5. Did I say they left for Erie after Jersey? No. After all the sh#t this corps has been through over the past few years, their not "acknowledging their NJ roots" (although I'm not sure how you determined that) is kinda irrelevant at this point. That they're even still around is more important than going out their way to please those who cannot be pleased.
  6. GH is gone. GONE. He no longer runs the Cadets. The move to Erie was after his tenure but regardless, given the state of inflation among other things, they need to do what they need to do to survive. I think we should probably be a little more grateful that they're still here, ESPECIALLY given what's happening to our West Coast friends. And given what you described what Cadets, under his leadership, did to the City of Hackensack, what makes you think they would even be welcome back in North Jersey? Maybe be a little more grateful the corps you love is still around...
  7. Cadets did what they needed to do to survive. It's the same principle as those who move from NYC/North Jersey to more southern or midwestern states. You do what you need to do to survive. If you don't want to give them grace because of the decisions they made, that's your prerogative. But if you have grown up in NY/NJ like I did, you know it is very expensive to live there, let alone maintain a non-profit organization there.
  8. Oh my gosh. I cannot WAIT to hear Bocook's arrangement of THIS!
  9. Oh trust me, I've already donated and probably gonna do it again and again.
  10. Hope to receive some tidbits from this weekend's camp...
  11. Jana Anderson and Jay Bocook. It's because of them I went back, and I'm certainly glad I did as well. That was THE best summer of my adolescent life. Yeah we pulled it out in our finals performance in 99. 2000 was definitely one for the books. That is my favorite Cadets' show, and not because I marched it. I still watch that show over and over to this day.
  12. 99 left me bitter about drum corps in general, and not because we didn't win as I didn't expect us to win. That season was NOT fun at all. I say this all the time, but that year almost made me quit drum corps for good.
  13. Best example: Cadets 2000. Ehhh...not for us, at least everything before Finals.
  14. Now THAT'S the news I like to hear (or read lol)!
  15. Hmmmm...well THAT'S not true. I'm pretty sure it's public knowledge as to why they moved.
  16. Well, even though I'm clamoring for information, I appreciate the fact that Cadets are relatively quiet and instead are focusing on producing a quality product based on what I'm reading from people here.
  17. Shows you how in touch I am with what's going on with Cadets. I'll be in St. Thomas but I'm sure I'll see some clips.
