The White Sabers will be having our 1st Winter Camp of the 2012 Season on Saturday, January 21st from 2pm until 9pm and Sunday, January 22nd from 8am until 12pm at the Livingston County Highway Department Building, located at 4389 Gypsy Lane, Mt. Morris, NY 14510. Overnight accommodations are available for Saturday night at our Bingo Hall located in Dansville. This years show is titled "From Death Till Dawn" and it's gonna be Scarrrrrrrrry Good! Don't miss out on this exciting show and season! Come on down and check us out!   6. I am so Excited to welcome Mike Mueller, Stephanie Waugh, Austin Jabaut and Matt Jaeger to the White Sabers Staff. Mike Mueller is the new Visual Caption Head. Mike comes to us with a lot of marching and teaching experience. From 2002-2005, Mike marched with Central Square High School Band, 2 of those years he was Drum Major. He also performed with the Winter Drum Line in 2005 and 2006. In 2006 the drum line won NYSPC SS State Championships. Mike was a Marching and Music Instructor at Central Square with the Middle School Parade Band from 2004-1010. From 2004-2008 the band was named the Gorham Pageant Junior High Class Champions. He also worked as a Visual/Marching Instructor with the Central Square High School Marching Band from 2006-2011. In 2007 and 2008 the band won the NYSFBC LS2 State Championships. Most recently, Mike has worked with the Pembroke Junior/Senior High School Marching Band in 2010 and 2011, where he was Assistant Director and a Brass and Visual Instructor. Welcome to the Corps Mike!! Stephanie Waugh is the new Color Guard Caption Head for the White Sabers. Stephanie also has many years of marching and teaching experience. Stephanie marched with the Central Square Marching Band from 2002-2008. She also marched with the Varsity Winter Guard from 2003-2009. Stephanie marched DCA drum Corps in 2003 with the Kingston Grenadiers and with the Syracuse Brigadiers from 2004-2007 and with the Brigadiers Visual Ensemble in 2010. Stephanie taught the Central Square JV Winterguard in 2008 and 2009 and the Central Square Marching Band color guard in 2009 and 2010. Most recently she was the UB Marching Band color guard instructor in 2011. Welcome to the Corps Stephanie!! Austin Jabaut has been named the Percussion Caption Head for the 2012 Season. Austin has a lot of experience both marching and teaching percussion. His Drum Corps experience actually started right here at White Sabers back in 2003. He marched with us from 2003-2006. He then marched with the Rochester Crusaders in 2007 and 2008, and from there went on to march DCI with The Glassmen in 2009 and 2010. Austin is also currently the Director of Percussion at Marcus Whitman for the Marching Band and Winter Percussion line. He is also the Percussion Arranger at Marcus Whitman. Welcome Back Austin!! Our fourth new addition to the staff is Matt Jaeger, who has been hired as the new Brass Caption Head for the 2012 season. Matt marched with the Crusaders from 2005-2008. While at Crusaders, he also worked as a Music tech, where he ran horn line warm-ups and sectionals. He also worked as a visual tech. Matt has also been a Music Assistant/Teacher for the Greece Central School Marching Band from 2006 to present, where he runs the music sessions of rehearsals. Welcome to the White Sabers Matt!!! Our Brass Caption Head for the past 10 years, Ben Chaffee, is taking on a new position with the Corps this year. Ben will be the new Show Coordinator. The experience that Ben has gained over the years will be very helpful in his new position. Congrats Ben!! We know you will continue to do great things with the Corps!! Leslie Amico

  10. The next White Sabers camp is this coming weekend at the Avoca School, 17-29 Oliver Street, Avoca NY. We start at 11am on Saturday and go until 9pm. On Sunday we will go from 8am until 10am when we will pack up the equipment and head to Henrietta for the parade. Exciting things are happening!!   11. The White Sabers Drum and Bugle Corps proudly announces Derek Pooley as the Color Guard Caption Head. Mr. Pooley comes from Central Square High School where he marched in their marching band and winter guards. Mr. Pooley has been with the White Sabers for three years now, two of them as our Drum Major. Mr. Pooley has also spent time consulting and volunteering with winter guards throughout the Mid-York Color Guard Circuit. We are very excited to announce his acceptance of this position!! The Management of the White Sabers is pleased to announce that Mike Culver has returned to the corps not only to march on the field, but as the Corps Publicity Manager. Mike has already been hard at work, getting the word out about the Corps. He is the one responsible for all those special announcements! There's lots more to come so STAY TUNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   18. The White Sabers will be holding our next camp this Saturday and Sunday, May 1st and 2nd. We are starting at 1pm on Saturday and going until 9pm, then on Sunday we will be going from 9am-2pm. We will be at Avoca Central Schools in Avoca, NY. We have a few openings in the Horn Line, Color Guard and Front Ensemble, so if you're sitting on the fence, just come on down and check us out!   19. So, we had an extremely successsful weekend, even with the lousy weather! We Learned drill, we had an awesome ensemble at the end of camp on Sunday and this weekend is guaranteed to be even bigger and better! Our New Percussion Caption Head, Dave Kimak, has big plans for the percussion section. We still have a few spots left in the horn line and 2 in the guard. If you're interested, come to Avoca and check it out! We are practicing from 2:30-9:00 on Saturday and 9:00-2:00 on Sunday. If you need a ride, we have people coming in from all directions so let me know! You are guaranteed to have a great time! Hope to See you there! Leslie Amico
  20. The White Sabers have cancelled their camp scheduled for March 27th and 28th due to lack of practice facility. Our next camp will be April 17th and 18th from 2:30-9:00 pm on Saturday and 9:00am until 2:00pm on Sunday. This will be a Full Corps Camp!! More details to follow. Hope to see you there! Leslie Amico
  21. The White Sabers next (and Last) winter camp will be held on March 27th and 28th at the Livingston County Highway Dept. Building in Mt. Morris, NY. We will go from 2:30-9pm on Saturday and 9am until 2pm on Sunday. There will be NO Guard rehearsal this weekend. This will be our last indoor camp of the season! As you may already know.... We have NO Membership Dues, the Staff is First Rate, the Food is Great (no brown bagging it here), and we have a Lot of Fun while performing a 1st Rate Show! Come and check us out!   23. I would like to encourage anyone still sitting on the fence to come on down to our next camp on February 27th and 28th and check it out! We have a Great Program, Great Staff, Great Food, we always provide overnight accommodations on camp weekends, and....................... NO MEMBERSHIP DUES!!! We are just a short drive from Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo and the Southern Tier! So, come on down!!! You will be so happy you did! Leslie Amico
  24. It really was a great camp! So exciting to see all those new faces and to have the numbers adding up fast. As far as going open...... We won't rule anything out at this point.
