  1. Unfortunately they are....but that can be changed by simply going back to a random order of performance.
  2. No.... It's gracious professionalism. Competition is good even if not all are great. Providing for more participation is better than trying to form a spectator base out of the disinterested. Maybe drum corp should never have been turned into a "business". Maybe it was better as a collective of community organizations...even if they didn't have the best equipment, the most talented kids. As a collective of community organization the ROI was greater if measured by number of participating members.
  3. Will the marching band students be able to afford the shows. If marching band has advanced so far why do they need drum corp...what makes it different? The unforgettable experience is participating in drum corp not being a spectator. ....and it doesn't have to be a G7 or even a DCI Corp. The only thing that will change our rapidly dissolving school music programs it to make it a money making proposition for the schools. All decisions in education today, curricular and extra-curricular, are made based on how much money they can get to do it...regardless of real value.
  4. Speak out. Members pay big bucks each year to participate in this activity and should be heard. (Sorry...It's already affected this season. There is no getting away from that. Maybe they should have presented the options in the Fall so that issue could have settled down a bit prior to the season or maybe it's intentionally planned tabloid fodder...a bizarre type of marketing that uses scandal (real or otherwise) to keep people interested. Doesn't matter. Not good...Not good...and not very responsible to the paying members.)
  5. I think they may be trying out the concept at the... June 18 – The 3 “C” Double Play Season Opener Featuring The Cadets, Cavaliers and Carolina Crown $53 – Limited Exclusive VIP seats with double-wide seats and in-stadium parking (only 50 tickets available) $23 – Reserved $13 – Value Reserved Children 12 and under are admitted FREE but must have a ticket; Reserved and Value Reserved seats only.
  6. Dome stadiums in general are a sound nightmare. I won't buy audio performance downloads from a dome performance because they are so bad.
  7. Best of Luck and safe travelling to all the Corps participating in the First Mini Corps Associate Championship! Have Fun! I hope someone is recording this historic event for those of us who can't make it. Sue
  8. I just found out that the Trombone Silent brass mute does NOT fit the YBH-301M Baritone. It was too loose. Unfortunately the store didn't have the Euphonium model to try.
  9. Does anyone know whichs silent brass mute fits the Yamaha YBH-301m Baritone and which fits the King 1129sp Euphonium?
  10. Albany PAL has a music program... That's Great! I'm in ... a check is on the way.
  11. I'm interested in a 3 valve G-Baritone.
  12. Hi Chris! Hope everything is going well. I'm looking forward to seeing Fusion in Wildwood!
  13. CrossmenXtreme Mini Corp is active. Our first performance of the year was last month at the Twin Valley show. Practices are held a Downingtown West High School in Downingtown PA. The next practice is this Sunday 06/15 at 12-4pm.
  14. How about a Mini Corp to keep your chops in shape and have fun without alot of time commitment. CrossmenXtreme Mini Corp practices at Downingtown West High School every other Sunday from 12:00nn to 3:30pm. The next practice is on 4/6/2008. We can always use another baritone.
