My favorite Cadets show ever. 8. 1990 Cavaliers (Anthems) 9. 1989 Vanguard (Phantom of the Opera) 10. 2007 Phantom ( On Air) I was away all summer and i promised my self i would not see any show from this year unless I a. Saw them in person (couldn't happen) or b. Watch the full show in high quality so that i wouldn't succumb to 'the site that shouldn't be named' and see a half ###'d version of a show, which is why i have not named any show from this year.

YES!!!! Are you from the Panhandle? There is NOTHING over here. It takes me 2 hours usually just to see a show. It's sad. A previous Crossmen member, Bruce Douglas, wanted to start a corps up here apparently years ago, but it never happend. Its a shame, there are alot of talented kids around here, too.

I may have my years and corps alittle off because it was along time ago when i saw this, but i remember seeing Esperanza(sp)? have this thing in their '90ish show where members got in these metal cage-like things and where spun upside down and everything while hitting cymbals. Again, dont hold my feet to the fire on the corps/years, but does anyone remember seeing this?

No, i am not asking anyone to do this for me. I am asking for help. There is not really any place i can go to exactly research something like this, so that is why i came here. This is really the only place i can go where i can get real information. Where else is a better place to go than a collection of people who live the activity? I am not asking for someone to send me there own reports or speeches, i am asking for information that i cannot find anywhere else. There have been three post on here, one of which does not help me, so i dont feel like it is going that way. There is much more to my report than whats been given. I don't mean to come off as me lashing out, because you are part of the support team and i do respect you , i just really dont want anyone to think i have wrong intentions. All i am looking for is help. I swear.

Thank you guys so much. If possible, it would also really help if people could give me some little points/facts that i can throw in and out of the speech. I had heard somewhere that every minute of show you see, takes on average of 500 rehearsal hours. I'm not sure if this true, but maybe someone can shed some light on that, and hopefully mroe things like that. My professor is big on those "wow" moments a speech, and things like that will definitely help.

I need to get a persuasive(sp?) speech ready for my class in a pretty short time. I need ALOT of help. I need ideas on how i can incorporate drum corps into a speech like that. Ex. Drum Corps should be seen as a sport (whether you think so or not, just ideas) I need ideas. Anything. The more the ideas the better. PLEASE HELP!!!

I definitely see where you're coming from. Just like the NBA "dream team". I'm sure there is quite a bit of bikering and stuff becuase everyone thinks that "they" themselves are the best. Probably would happen, but i was just wondering, (best case scenario) who you might choose. No flame taken.

This is an extra little question i was wondering about. I was watching a podcast by Vic Firth, and thought of another question to throw in here. Who's writing style do you prefer. Aungst, or "ScoJo". Both have tought world class lines, and im wondering who you think may be better/ more favorable.

I was driving home from D.C. (washington not drm crps) at 2 a.m. this morning and, of course, I had nothing else to do but think. While I was thinking about random things and listening to various shows I got into thinking the whole "wouldnt it be cool if they had this person on staff?" while listening. So my question for anyone, if you were to design a program, who would be your "dream team" of instructors and staff? [name]- Drill [name] [name] [name] [name]-Brass and so on

My high school marched in TOB. Guard and percussion scores got counted in to the final score and each had seperate awards. Every section on the field is adding to make the show sound and look good, so i think they all should be represented. I think its wrong for them not to be judged.

I think this whole thing would be very cool, but ultimitely be somewhat impracticle. This activity (marching as a whole) has grown soo much over the years, and thats because of different people's ideas and thoughts. That being said, ideas and thoughts are things that change all the time. It would incredibly hard to make a book with enough information and ideas to span a long period of time in an activity that is constantly changing. Every years someone brings something new to the table to look and think about. After all of the months and months and possibly even years of researching and publishing, some of the information may even be, for lack of a better term, "out dated" almost. Not trying to down the idea, because it is something i think would be a blast to try and create, but it would just be incredibly hard, imo.

What i did, was baught (or you can download) software that lets you take songs from your computer (ex. drum corps shows) and clip out 30 sec or so and save it. It came with a usb cable that goes right into my phone. I sounds soo much more clear than other things ive downloaded straight to my phone from a service, and you get to pick any part of whatever show you want. Very cool. Check it out.

I know its still way early to tell for sure, but IMHO, i honestly see PR as a serious contender for the gold next season. I know they could have just as easily placed 7th this year, but i just have a feeling that they are going to pull something out and really make this their year. Agian, I'm not trying to call any shots, and i dont really have any facts to back this up, and im not trying to down anyone else, but something just tells me they will go to the top. Call it a hunch. Also, I really think Madison is going to come back super strong, and blow people away. I really see them back in finals....hopefully. Anyway, tell me what you think their chances may be.
