Because someone, somewhere convinced Dan and company that doing it would be bad for revenue. I tend to disagree, but it doesn't matter what any of us think, they won't cave and aren't gonna do it. Gotta buy the videos and fork over the cash. IMHO, it's horse*%&@ !

No sarcasim at all... there was another thread on the Helmets where he explains why he made the decision to go to Shako's this year.

It would be nice if DCI would post small clips from the performances... 30 seconds is enough to tease us and keep us satisfied.

I love the fact that Greg had the kids from the Stars wear the helmets tonight. CLASSY! We need more tradition in drum corps!

I have been to quite a few Champs weeks, and I can honestly say there was only one performance that has even come close to getting this kind of standing ovation. Best Previous Standing O 1987 Garfield Cadets. If you were in the corwd while the place went nuts during the dissolving company front, you know how emotional that night was. Honorable Mention 1987 Santa Clara Vanguard. Honestly, this show only charged the crowd up for Garfield, and is probably partly responsible for Garfield's Standing O. 1992 Velvet Knights Wasn't quiet as long, but it was charged with energy and freaking loud.
