  1. Thanks to everyone who filled me in on the performance order. Ya'll are good folk.
  2. OK, so I logged in late and I'm grokking that there's been a weather delay...can anyone tell me where the schedule falls and who's up now? Surely I'm not the first one to ask, and I apologize for that, but I appreciate the info!
  3. Well....at least we have the contras in common.
  4. Crikey....wish we had some word on things. Excuse me, but....GO BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Yes I know its a week away but, I am so excited for the shows! Sadly I can only attend one show this year (I picked the Friday show for the cavies of course) but if anyone has any idea where these great corps are practicing at that would be amazing to know! So... anyone in Texas going to these awesome shows? I know Bluecoats will be in Brenham, and of course I'm going to Thursday's performance and the Sunday show in San Antonio. It'll be the first time I'll have seen the boy all summer. Austin, Texas here, by the way...
  6. From deep in the heart of Texas... GO BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. OK, so here's a ridiculously silly question to ask after being involved in this activity for four years...but what exactly does 'visual performance' entail? What part of the corps' performance?
  8. I believe she's referring to the Bluecoats being based out of Canton, Ohio. What an interesting perception that the 'Coats benefitted from a home field advantage. An interesting conspir...er, premise.
  9. Congratulations to the Blooooooooooooo on a great win... Keep your foot on the gas!!!!!!!
  10. Well hell. We have ourselves a breakthrough. Nicely done, Bluecoats...keep your foot on the gas.
  11. Biased as I may be, I'm confident the show provides excellent opportunity for growth throughout the season and plays to the Bluecoats' strengths. Their conditioning is better this year, they have solid veteran leadership, and this is the first year in a while that we've seen a unified artistic direction. (All comments I've made before, I know, but they bear repeating...) What I'm most happy to see, though, is the attitude among the players: the Six Words have been internalized and are being lived as a core value. THAT'S exciting, no matter the placement after finals.
  12. Most excellent! Thanks for your play by play. Felt like a good run; seems crowd was into it.
  13. Thanks a lot for your updates...let us know how those big horns sound tonight.
  14. I posted this same comment in the show thread the other night, but one thing I noticed in the recaps: Bluecoats fall to a 7.6 in a caption they'd won with an 8.1 the show prior...and 8.1 is what Crown scored to win that caption. I'm thinking it was a bad night, which happens...but when all the pieces hit, it looks like this corps can score this summer. I'm hoping they can keep their foot on the gas and keep climbing.
  15. This is mainly so I can hit 300 posts more than anything, but I'll also take this time to shout out a GO BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! while I'm in here. Thank you for your understanding.
  16. Hey, thanks for this; works great. Glad to see the big horns are representing again. Kudos to your boy.
  17. Well, I just checked the recaps, and i know I'm not as smart as most of you, but what I saw was this: Bluecoats took a 7.6 in a caption they won with an 8.1 at their last show. Wonder if that was just a bad night, eh? Which also tells me..and my son marches contra there, so I am biased...that if they'd hit a number like they're accustomed to in said caption, they would have won tonight. Which means we've still yet to see the best they've got to offer. I'm looking forward to that.
  18. I will tell you publicly, my friend: you have a great deal to do with the strength of that section. Thank you.
  19. Great to hear. Jason and my son both marched that year; my son's a four-year ageout on this year's line. Was wondering if you'd seen their show; contras seem fiercely strong again..
  20. The excitement about DCI this year rivals anything I've seen in my short association with the activity...and that's a GOOD thing. Heartens me to see the Bluecoats stirring up that pot a little and making a strong early statement. Stay tuned.
  21. Valid points...and ones I'm hoping the visual/design staff has internalized from 2007. We shall see.
