Good point. I hadn't thought of that. It's been a long (but good! day. -

Bridgemen were 6th that year, I believe. 77 Oakland Crusaders won percussion in prelims in 77, but didn't make Finals. Thank you, 1977 Oakland Crusaders sounds right. I was thinking that Bridgemen won high drums three years in a row but that was half a century ago. You can't expect me to remember everything! -

If Blue Devils didn't win percussion then they had to have lost by .1 of a point. They were really good tonight. -

We have to consult the Wayback Machine to the last century but I believe the 12th place Bridgemen won percussion in 1981. And there was another year, maybe 1982 where the 14th place Bridgemen had the highest percussion score of the finals weekend in semis but didn't win any awards because they didn't make finals. -

Cavaliers tubas, wearing hats and plumes . Very unusual in this day and age. -

I was on the bandwagon for the traditional cadet uniform. They were fitted for those early in the season and played a parade in them. However, one of the people here updated me, and said they attempted to do some of the movements in the traditional uniform, and they tore . I am now off the idea that there will be a uniform change. I agree with you, and if they did, it would bring the house down. -

I've been watching drum corps on Flo the last three hours. My backside could use some relief and I could use a hot meal. Sorry I got you wrong, brother. 🤜🤛 -

You need to turn the volume up on your hearing aids and listen to Cadet's ending. Those mello's! 😎 -

Mine is clear, resolution set to Auto and works at 1080p for me. You might check your settings and see what yours is set to. You usually need about 20 Mbs to get 1080p. -

Nice Delta formation at the end of Spirit's show. A fitting nod to tradition. -

When it comes to audio and you want LOUD, think of it this way: if you want more horsepower, get a bigger horse. 🤜🤛 😎 -

Headphones give you a very good sound quality. My own problem with them is I am afraid to play them too loud. I use four subs, technically two 15" subs w/3000 wpc and a pair of 12" Mid-bass modules for more baritone/tuba power, and drum line CRACKS are loud. I get lots of chest thump when listening to the corps unleash. Just like real life. 🙂 -

Remember, that is the audio gain coming from the source. Your sound system determines how loud that sound will be. If the gain were high there would be a lot of compression when the corps go from playing a soft passage to FFF. It would sound like listening to TV levels, no highs, no lows, just the same sound level all the time. I got tremendous dynamics on my system because I designed it that way to play drum corps like you hear it at the stadium, loud! That means I use large horn loaded speakers with 4 subs. Then I add plenty of power to both. I checked my sound pressure level (SPL) with the Niosh sound level meter (free from the Apple App store). Eighty db is loud. The average SPL was about 80 with peaks 94-99 db and I hit 100 db a couple of times. Conversation level is about 60. I can watch the Flo feed Multi-cam and High-cam at the same time on my computer monitor and 55" TV just above that. This is my dedicated home theater setup. 9.4 speakers, 65" TV. -
Houston show that's actually Tomball

I don't think I've seen anyone mention tonight the BD "sash." I don't know what else to call it. Prior to tonight they had one sash on the left side, very colorful. Tonight they had two, left and right. It made for a little more color for each uniform but when combined for a large visual block it the colors are tremendous. A little change translates into a big change. BD staff adding details at the end of the season which puts them over the top, as usual. -

I want to see King Arthur run up to the podium and run the drum major through with a sword. Then a guard member puts the crown on his head and he conducts the corps to the end to a cheering crowd. Am I reaching here? 🙂 -

Actually “Low“ audio gain is not bad. The reason being is if you had the gain set higher then it does sound a little louder but you don’t get the dynamic range. Mine has been pretty good, but I have a home theater custom built to show off the quality and volume that drum corps horns produce. I won’t go into any deeper here. because it can get on the nerdy side I’ll see if I can get a thread started on this and detail some of the settings I use. -
I like watching the rankings on DCI.org. In terms of high score, Phantom actually jumped Mandarins. Cadets jumped them both.

100% ^^^. Mr. One Who Knows was expressing his opinion, and I appreciate his honesty. 🤜🤛 The only bad part is it turns out he was right.
