  1. Thanks so much! We are very excited about 2009!!! Hope to see you out there, as well!
  2. Then you definitely need to come to a rehearsal and check us out! I saw on your profile that you live in the Columbus area? We are going to be forming a "car pool" that will be driving down from the Columbus area....a bunch of our pit players come from that area....and I can see about hooking you up with them to come down if you'd like! Just PM me on here, or send me an e-mail to let me know. I know you'll have lots of FUN with us....so let the "Tradition" help you get that "drum corps itch" taken care of!!!
  3. This Corps is definitely growing and on the move to bigger and greater things! It's going to be a very exciting ride and I, for one, can't wait to take this ride with them! Can't wait until next weekend...."Cincinnati Tradition 2009".....LET'S DO THIS THING!!!!!!!!
  4. This has been a terrible shock and is a great tragedy! And, indeed, this is a "great loss" to the Drum Corps Activity. Cozy was one of the most "passionate" corps people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and he will be greatly missed....for his dedication, passion, perserverance and enthusiasm for our great activity. To Cozy: I will never forget the day you spent hours showing me all of your wonderful "drum corps parifnalia"....that you had spent a lifetime collecting....and the wonderful, long hours of drum corps talk! You were and always will be an "INSPIRATION" to all who love drum corps!!!! "RIP" my drum corps comrade....and MAY GOD FOREVER BLESS YOU in that Great Drum Corps in Heaven!!!! Love To You Always,
  5. Great line!! :P And, will be great to have another "midwestern" corps....we need a lot more of those!! B) Best Wishes to Prairie Sound! :)
  6. I am the only one in my family who has ever done Corps. I come from a whole family of musicians, but none of them understand this "obsession" I have, LOL! Hey, what can I say?! It's just like the shirt that one of my fellow corps comrades sent me....it reads: "DRUM CORPS - FOR THOSE WHO UNDERSTAND, NO EXPLANATION IS NECESSARY - FOR THOSE WHO DON'T, NO EXPLANATION IS POSSIBLE" Amen.
  7. LOL....I hear that! But, you guys will re-define how many view TX with these new unis!! Can you say...."How the WEST was WON???!!! B)
  8. Hello, Chris! The uniform is absolutely "breathtaking" and (in my opinion) will be one of the best looking in all of DCA! Of course, everyone knows I'm biased towards the "aussie"....but the entire uniform is just razor sharp!! Another interesting point is that the look just seems to exude a "TX" flavor....I think a lot of it has to do with the style of the jacket, as well as it's color against the rest of the uniform. So, what is the TX Look?! I think this is it!! B) Congratulations and Best Wishes for your best season yet.....in 2007!!!
  9. WOW....so many GREAT things are happening for "Excelsior".....many in the Activity are going to have their eye on you guys! Oh, and BTW, the new uniforms look great! Can't wait to see you guys in action next summer! Godspeed and Best Wishes for more Great things to come!! B)
  10. Best Wishes to the "High Country Brass" for a speedy journey to the field in 2007! DCA wants & needs a great corps from the beautiful state of Colorado....Godspeed!!!
  11. Fantastic News! Can't wait to see the drill....as I'm sure it will be Awesome!! Rock, Rock, Rock the Northcoast!!!
  12. This is "AWESOME" news! ^OO^ ROCK THE HOUSE!!! B)
  13. Fantastic! Very unique....and no doubt it will be very emotionally moving! Trully an unforgettable time in history....and some of the greatest music ever created was from this time! BEST WISHES TO FRONTIER IN 2007!!!
  14. Best of Wishes to the "Blue Stars Alumni Corps"! The Parade sounds like a great time & no doubt you will all have a blast! I have always been a huge fan of the Blue Stars, and it was great to see your return to Div 1 this year!! Great job & kudos to you all!!! B)
  15. Matt, the show line-up sounds great! Especially "Malaguena"....as I have always dreamed of having the chance to perform this piece in drum corps! I am also highly impressed with the numbers you guys already have on the potential roster....very "exciting"....to say the very least!!! Can't wait to get down there and meet everyone in Nov! B)
  16. The Crossmen Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps is currently recruiting for all areas of the corps, including brass, percussion, color guard, as well as instructional, administrative & support staff. The corps now has a solid Board of Directors established, but is still looking to add a couple more dedicated people to serve on the Board. The Corps is open to all alumni of the Crossmen, as well as non-alumni, 16 yrs of age and older who are interested in becoming part of the Crossmen heritage & family. The Corps recently secured an official rehearsal facility at the Valley Forge Military Academy & College in Wayne, PA. The Academy offers excellent facilities for both indoor & outdoor use, and the Board is very excited about the future at such a beautiful facility. The Academy also holds a special place in Crossmen history, as it was a former rehearsal facility for the Crossmen Junior Corps during the winters of 1979 & 1980. A special thank you goes out to Mr. Nigel Jackson, the Principal Director of Music at Valley Forge Military Academy & College for making this opportunity available to us. It is the vision & dream of the Board to create an Alumni Corps that will offer alumni, as well as others who are interested in continuing the legacy of Crossmen, an opportunity for performance, comradery and social interaction. The Corps will also act as an extension of the Crossmen Alumni Association to help preserve & strengthen the heritage of the corps, as well as educate the general public on the history of the Crossmen. In addition, the Alumni Corps will endeavor to be a strong source of financial support to the Junior Corps, by raising money for them through various fundraising and performance venues. It is also our hope that the Alumni Corps will shine as a light of inspiration to the kids who are currently marching in the Junior Corps, to let them know that after they “age-out”, their journey as a Crossmen doesn’t have to end, as they can then “age-in” to the Alumni Corps…and once again know the “unity” that forever binds the Crossmen family. In addition to all this, another goal is to bring back the “old school” of Bones. To help establish this, the Corps plans to use bugles in the “key of G”, as well as create a uniform that incorporates elements from some of the Crossmen’s history. And, for all those who were big fans of the famous “capes”, the Board would like to let everyone know that the capes will definitely be part of the new Alumni Corps uniforms. A return to the Crossmen roots will also promise a nostalgic rendition of “Russian Christmas Music”, as well as other old favorites. The Corps is currently working on securing a full line of G-bugles that should be in place by the end of the year. Some percussion and guard equipment will also be provided by the Valley Forge Military Academy & College, but those who own or have access to their own equipment will also be encouraged, in the beginning, to utilize it at rehearsals. With all this being said, tentative plans are now underway to hold an official open house/first rehearsal this fall, or during the early winter of 2007. Alumni Corps rehearsals will be held once a month, on either a Sat or Sunday, then may increase to twice a month, depending on the interest & availability of the members. In keeping with the vision to bring back the “old school”, another goal is to pioneer the revival of indoor performances, or known by many old school people as “winter drum corps”. Since we realize that we will need to get our feet wet, especially in the beginning, we feel that making our presence known through various types of indoor performances will be an excellent way to let the world know that we’re here, and hopefully encourage more to join the corps. It is also our hope that more Alumni Corps will jump on the corps wagon and decide that they would like to help us re-create a “winter drum corps” circuit that many can enjoy for years to come. Of course, in addition to indoor performances during the winter months, the Alumni Corps would like to make it’s first major appearance, with a full field show at DCI East in 2007. With this in mind, the plan is to put out a full field show that is very much in line with traditional Alumni Corps shows; i.e. nothing too demanding drill wise, but very entertaining and enjoyable for both the audience and performers alike. It won’t be long until a new journey for the Crossmen heritage begins, and we would like to let everyone know that it is never too late to once again “live the dream” of being a Crossmen, or becoming one for the very first time! Since you never “age-out” of the Alumni Corps, all that have the desire can be a part of this new journey….and if you have been away from a horn, drum or flag/rifle, this is the perfect way to get yourself back in shape for many rewarding years as a member of the Crossmen Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps. Or, for those who would also like to participate in other DCA & DCI Corps, the Alumni Corps is a great way to give you the experience you need. We hope you will all choose to join the unity of Bones…and embark on a new chapter in the Crossmen Heritage that will bring happiness to all for many years to come! I think Cleveland is going to be an Excellent area for a new Senior Corps.....it is time for this great state of Ohio to make it's mark in the world of DCA!!! Many have been waiting for this opportunity & I know there will be many more ..... who have been unable to march, due to distance issues, etc, that will come out of the woodwork to finally realize their dream of marching Corps again!!! WOW!....the resources that you will be able to draw from are endless....Ohio & the surrounding states are just saturated with drum corps people! OH....and another Senior Corps that will be in the "KEY OF G".....they are going to swarm to you guys like bees to the hive!!!! B) DCA.....make way for the new "Midwest Powerhouse"......The "NORTHCOAST ROCK"!!!!!!!
  18. A huge loss to the trumpet world.....he will be missed. But, what an incredible legacy he leaves behind!! There is a great tribute video of him on "You Tube" at: It has some great pics of him & his band, as well as some great music clips. My absolute favorite is the one of him playing "Danny Boy".....you can just feel the emotion as he plays...."Beautiful". May he play in God's Great Band Forever!!!!!!
  19. Great Job, "River City Regiment"! This show is proof positive that you don't have to be big to put out a BIG SOUND!!! Your show was very enjoyable....both musically & visually. Best Wishes for present & future success!! :)
