  2. Cool....... Nascar and drum corps. Driving the Truck to Daytona.......
  3. Did you see me playing the vibes?? I've got a great 2 mallet technique holding them in my mouth. I think I'll call it the "Pokey" grip. Remember.... DO NOT listen to the 2008 show on my web page. I'll get in trouble. Sun Devils Show
  4. I took a secret recording of the drumline cadence mp3. It's on my web home page playing. I grabbed a someones memory stick while I was sniffing around the laptops. Pokeys Marching Percussion I also got the 1st part of the show on my other page. (shhh.... don't tell anyone) - Sun Devils Show There is some static but it was probably cause I was dragging that memory stick all around the parking lot.
  5. I hear that the camp schedule is up and posted on the corps web site. (thru April) I'll have my water (bowl) ready. Bark time march & dut-dut-dut-dut
  6. Wow, almost as many as my Doggie daycare in Sarasota - "Paws Playground". I am working on an "outdoor" drum ensemble. All we have for equipment is a couple stainless water bowls, 12 squeaky toys , various bones and an old bassoon that we chew on.....
  7. Truth be told... I'm the one who has done all the work. My paws are getting very sore on this keyboard. Eddie D always gets all the credit.....That's ok, he keeps my bowl full of food and wata (Boston for water..) Sun Devils - all new - all good - woof
  8. I remember we voted on the name. We had a couple of names ( my vote was for Royal Guardsmen ) I think the consensus was that a Citation was an award..... Bob O'Neil, who founded the corps with his wife Ruth had previously run a corps in Bedford, Ma. called the "Bedford Miltiamen" . Bob and his brother Harry were in the Princemen , a famous senior corps from Malden. Old photo from the Burlington Times - used green uni's with black pants and berets. Our first competition songs I remember were "El Cid" coming off the line and "Softly" leaving the field. This is my alter ego Pokey........
  9. Can someone Pm me with the midi of the show? My paws are ready!
  10. GRRRRRRR.......... ruuuuufffff (Pokey get's mad when someone is mean to his family)
  11. I bark in the key of "G"..... Looking forward to hanging my head out the window of the bus.....
  12. Us dog's gotta stick together..........practicing my single stroke rolls right now digging a big hole in the backyard. I'm auditioning for corps mascot.....woof
  13. The only reason I see woodwinds being considered is that there are kids already playing them and some corps would use anyone to fill the corps up. Now I'm talking smaller corps here. I have been watching Florida Band Competitions and the better bands are brass heavy and one was a drum and bugle B-flat corps. The band directors know they can't get the volume of sound they would like unless they had about 100 "winds" and or put a wireless mike on all the instruments. Do all these changes mean that the judges are going to go for it? That the crowd won't hear the difference? woof.....
  14. But seriously.... I don't know what the deal is in the DCI west with Renegades. I do know in the Northeast to do an exhibition at a DCI event you have to be a DCI All-age corps. The only 2 I know are Boston Crusaders Sr and Muchachos from NH. They had to go thru a DCI process and submit all published music. I think it would be nice to do a DCI Sr compete thing but I don't know the logistics. Is that what the Kilties and MBI do in Mid west?? Maybe DCI would be open to that in the South. Ooops I used the wrong Log-in wooffff.....
